Every ICE powered car represents a theft from our children of clean air and a habitable climate. The price is paid by society, not the direct consumer. The subsidy helps level the playing field, though if you're in favor of a carbon tax, that’s a great alternative idea.

It is a subsidy, but its purpose is to spur development of a robust EV market to counteract climate change. Left on its own, the market will just keep on producing F-250s the size of a Canyonero, because car prices and gas prices do not accurately reflect the cost of burning oil. That is, the negative externalities of

That’s not a CHAdeMO, that’s an IEC 62196 Type 2 connector, which you will not find in the US.

Where does the electricity required to charge the vehicles come from?

Finally a use for the dime a dozen 996 with a blown engine

Welcome to late 2017.

Apparently the market for “I need to replace my aging Chrysler Sebring convertible with something similar” customers is a small one.

Or maybe it’s just this:

Should be better than a non-EV, really; the regenerative braking’s handled through the drive motors, so should be being cooled through the main cooling system.

It’s actually better than the PHEV version, probably the same as the FHEV. Just sat in and compared them at the auto show as they were parked right next to each other. I do think you lose a bit of rear foot space as the floor in the back seat is higher.

I was surprised to learn that they can swim.

So what you are saying is you want a great car that happens to be electric, not an electrified mobility solution.  Why reinvent the wheel?

Noooooo!

I think you mean XT6 but really this just shows how much Cadillac’s current naming scheme sucks.

Very fitting for Cadillac. Even their logo will be an empty shell of its former self.

Looks precisely like a BMW interior with a Toyota steering wheel. Even this UI is straight-up damn near identical to BMW:

It will happen, esp. now that they are selling elsewhere it will allow for costs to come down as battery tech gets better (which has been a huge part of the cost). Maybe if they even went with a subscription service also. Having said that there are a bunch of sub-$40s Teslas avail. that come with a warranty, along

It’s the new STI trim that stands for “So...That’s It?”

That’s the way low beams are SUPPOSED to look.  Highbeams really need to be a different projector/reflector and aim more light slightly upwards from that, but your low-beams were correct.
