Some cool tricks here, I’m a big fan of the mid-gate returning.

But at an undisclosed thus far price. Will it be less than $32k which it takes to get the 300 mile Ford? Almost certainly, but it could easily be 15-20k.

Serious question- what’s the insurance implications of knowingly buying or continuing to drive a car that by admission of the manufacturer has a higher than normal chance of burning itself and everything within a radius to the ground?

Word for the wise with new and odd cars - if you have a car that needs an external 12V power source if its 12V goes dead to get to the 12V battery (Teslas, Mach E, sure there’s more I’m not aware of), do not get one with the fancy readout/contactors attached to the leads like the one pictured. They look for at least a

I got a chance to ride-along at Laguna Seca in 2014 in what I was told at the time was the very last Active E that hadn’t been returned to BMW due to some delay with the i3 Electronaut edition that was supposed to be replacing it. Was an incredibly interesting machine. Not particularly impressive on track, but a

Yeah, I’m nearing 250k and the last several MI winters have definitely increased the rate of decline unfortunately. Wish there was something new that was a true replacement as I have loved this one! My next vehicle will definitely be electric, owing to currently (well at least until COVID) having a long commute, is

Exactly why I got my longroof! Fast enough to be fun, modern enough to be reasonably safe, easily hauls 4 people or a small trailer, can put 600 lb of flooring in it for DIY, fairly economical to run!

Serious question I am surprised I haven’t seen here yet. If you did not authorize the purchase, could you not dispute the charge through your credit card company? Tesla would 100% be in the right to remove the SW from the vehicle - that’s what you want anyway! Not clear if that is in “the right” or not if it truly was

That is, if the car was sold new on Jan 1 up through today, which it could of course have been a 2020 sold many months before 2020 started!

It’s only 931 miles a day, but would still be immensely impressive especially if you could keep up with tires and fluids and still make the nearly 1000 a day average...

Thanks! Haha, yeah both lower engine mounts are in the pile of parts so lifting the engine up definitely has to happen anyway! I’ve been eyeing some quick jacks though I’m not sure they’d be too helpful for this job.

My driver seat split a couple years ago and that’s several hundred dollars that just doesn’t seem worth putting into it at this point. It’s a DD not a show car! Years ago I added bluetooth input to the radio and steering wheel audio controls, phone mount on the dash gets you most of what newer cars have anyway, the

Yeah I’ve got a big pile of parts in my garage at the moment, just have to find some time to do it, hopefully when it’s not above 90 degrees outside and humid. Was very much debating pulling the whole engine as it would make the process way easier but I don’t have a lift so disconnecting the trans was not something I

This is the perfect iteration of this car, I think. Best color, manual, seems to be in pretty good shape, the mods that make it as good as possible without ruining it (save for maybe the resonator delete...).

To be honest, it will drive a lot better than the bolt, however, base vehicle does have less range though, and not having heated front seats standard and no available rear heated seats is definitely a dumb decision.

But cool story and he seems to be a good sport about it, glad nobody got hurt!

I’m sure they’re not finalized yet, that’s based on the combined estimate of 700 miles per tank and 30.6 gal per tank = 22.8 mpg. I expect this is a combined estimate, not a highway estimate, so compared it to the 20MY combined rating.

The almost 23 mpg of the Hybrid seems pretty bland until you compare it to the 2020 3.5L EB numbers, which show it represents a 20% improvement in fuel economy as well as a boost in power. Will be interesting to see where the 21 3.5L stands to see how much of the improvement is powertrain and how much is aerodynamics
