Actually, no in Bad Wolf, the doctor stopped before Rose returned. He couldn't bring himself to kill half of humanity to stop the Daleks. When asked if he was, "killer or coward," her replied "coward. Every time."

Preach, brother. Science Fiction has always been a genre perfectly situated for allegory and commentary. Some of my favorite episodes of Doctor Who dealt with modern issues, like the Zygons last season and the discussions about faith and religion way back in the Satan Pit arc in season 2

To be fair, discussing your inevitable death and the messy processes surrounding circumventing said death is a little morbid and probably not something he loves to do.

Nope. That is in my top ten list of stupidest moments on Doctor Who, along with "the Statue of Liberty is an Angel," and all of Lover and Monsters. But I seriously loved his Zygon two parter.

It's why in the book, Jesus didn't make an appearance. He knew they were all doing well for themselves, so he didn't even try to recruit them.

Honestly, I would be interested in seeing what a "god of superheroes" would look like. And I know Thor shot himself in the book, but with the renewed importance of superheroes in the modern psyche, I think there are things worth exploring there that American Gods is uniquely suited to look at that other shows can't.

I didn't say I don't have beliefs. I just said that the act of disbelieving something is different from believing in the opposite. I don't have any beliefs in a religious sense. And I understand myself perfectly fine, thanks you for judging my personality based on a short series of online messages. Shockingly, that is

That's not a bad comparison

This argument always pisses me off. It's been used by religious people to tell me that I have religion on too many occasions. I don't believe in a lack of God, I have a lack of belief in God.

The war is irrelevant to them. They're doing just fine for themselves, so there's no hunger or desperation for Wednesday to play off of. That's how he coaxed the sisters. And if they don't need the war, they won't willingly join.

Why do you think that would stretch the story? I remember why Thor wasn't a big character in the book, but times have changed. Thor is kind of a big deal right now, and it might be interesting to bring in kind of a "traitor" God, one who took Mr World's offer.

See, I think it came as a complete shock to her that there was something after death. And she didn't seem to fear punishment. She pushed the scales down herself. As for what's would happen to a content atheist, I think they're would be darkness but also peace

The way I see it, Shadow believes things without having Faith. He's experienced love and believes in it. But there is no worship. Laura has no faith, and more importantly no belief, even in herself or her friends and family. Before she died she barely qualified as alive. She was simply going through the motions. Death

…… was that a pun off of wodan? I'm party impressed, partially disgusted. Well played?

But… it's the same story. It's the same themes. It's the same bloody characters. This is American Gods. If you don't like it, that's your prerogative. But this isn't that far off the source material. And I say this as someone who is spectacularly picky about my adaptations. I dislike the freaking Harry Potter movies,

Yes, she wasn't punished for a lack of faith, but a lack of belief. That's a key distinction.

She accidentally bumped the gearshift with her elbow. As are as I can tell it was unintentional.

It may not service Shadows story overall, but it certainly services Laura's. And she's definitely got important things to do before this is all over. I think that, given how important she is, Laura deserves a full story arc.

I'd argue this is pretty close to how Laura was in the book. I always got the impression that Laura talked Shadow into the robbery in the book as well, but that was arguably worse since in the book Shadow wasn't a conman who made the initial offer.

I don't remember. Did Jackal and Ibis perform the autopsy? Because if so there's a very good reason they performed the autopsy. <spoilers> they eat portions of the organs as part of their sacrifice. It's how they adjusted to not being worshipped. <spoilers>
