The SUVs (and trucks) seems to be holding up pretty well. The Tacoma redesign was ok, and honestly I think the new RAV4 looks ok as well.

The current 4Runner is one of the only good looking cars Toyota sells. I’m worried about how their current design direction is going to affect that.

I have a ‘14 Limited and man, if you can get over the completely terrible gas mileage, and ancient 5 speed auto, it’s a bulletproof way to get around anywhere you need to go. I bought it pretty much brand new, and have had absolutely nothing go wrong, brakes at 40K, routine oil changes, that’s it. 

we sell a decent enough number of them. its not a sales leader by any stretch, kind of a niche market vehicle, but it sells better than the compass and renegade do at my store, by quite a margin.

To be fair, our CJ-7 spent relatively little time rock crawling, and it was a working Jeep. Plowing, some light bulldozer work, driving unimproved ‘roads’, towing things, hauling hay, and giving a double middle finger to snow were more likely actions than wandering out rock crawling.

Off-idle torque in off-roading situations is nice.  V8 FTW

Its ok the Bronco didn’t debut with a V8. I’ll still want one after the first year model gets the bugs worked out and I’m of the camp that the V8 is not going to be with us much longer.
