The supernova destroyed Romulus the planet, not the entire empire. I think a race so advanced could still recover from the destruction of their homeplanet... he’ll, it’d be a nice set up for a new series having to cope with a Romulan Empire in disarray and full of faction trying to take power.
It’s just another indication to me that this series should been set post-Voyager, then they could just do whatever they wanted without constraints regarding TOS designs.
Robotic personhood is the stupidest thing I’ve heard today. If a robot does something wrong, you reprogram it. Held accountable? The manufacturer is 100% accountable for the actions of something they made, and they should be fixing the things, not putting them in jail or something.

The space battle is arguably the best in all 8 movies so far buy a LARGE margin. Those X-wings glancing, and skittering off the defector shield and exploding, and the few skating through....goddamn I loved that.
