I saw this image and legit thought it was a photoshop because surely nobody could be this....I don’t even know. Tone deaf is far too charitable. That nobody could be this deliberately dismissive of fellow immigrants’ humanity.

To be honest, Solo actually revived a little of that “thriving galaxy full of life” feeling. It wasn’t a great movie, but it was servicable, and the part I liked best was the saturation of aliens and just...Star Wars flavor, really.

I walked out of TLJ thinking “That was okay. Except for the first time in my life I have no interest in the next Star Wars movie.”

We live in an incredibly sexist society where “you throw like a girl” or “pussy” and many feminine-specific slurs deliberately refer to meanings of weakness, inability, less-than.

The problematic nature of this word can’t be laid at the feet of this administration (even though the breathless pearl-clutching and hypocrisy of the administration in general is worth mocking).

While I love the metaphor attempt, that’s a total insult to selkies, who are basically just doing the mythological “seals turning into humans and then back again” thing and most of the time are human only because some jerk literally coerces them.
