If the library didn’t have Seuss books, I could see your point. But I’m all but positive they’re already on this. Elementary school doesn’t serve kindergarteners, and most kids aren’t reading Seuss in fifth grade. Not to mention, “the more books the better” sounds good, sure, but would you have wanted a school library

To be honest, I think this is much worse. Those are inadvertently funny (“is our children learning?”) but this comes off as malicious and rather horrific.

“People can’t believe how successful it’s been”? That loss of life? The results you’ve had in respect to that loss of life?

Kudos to the librarian for amplifying an issue that needs amplifying. The damage her husband’s regime administration is doing and will continue to do to education wouldn’t be fixed with a thousand books.

I’m shocked. This is my shocked face.

It’s dismaying to me that this comment is still greyed out. This should be included in all the articles that are fawning over this guy for his “apology”.

To be fair, I’m interpreting based on the student’s instagram description of the interaction. He walks it back pretty nicely after the fact, true, but I’m not convinced it’s coming from a place other than “oh crap, my job”. If someone says “hey, this really obvious string of racist things is really bothering me,” and

I was more willing to entertain the “I was just ignorant” explanation at first, because I can all but guarantee he had someone else organize and set up the dinner. Dollars to donuts, he was not the one who arrange the cotton on the table himself or was busy stirring the mac n cheese, or serving the Latinx students

She herself uses the word stealing. She’s defining her own actions and then trying to justify them by, basically, “I think I should be able to do this because I say so.”
