Your chosen quoted passage literally says “yes, black people were abused. But that’s no excuse for them not to go ahead and do it, because the end result justifies the means.”

30 surgeries. Without any anesthesia.

I love Dorian Gray, but my feelings about this are mixed.

The only compliments he’s capable of are the ones where he’s basically complimenting himself or his own taste.

Clearly you don’t, either. Have you seen how many laws Texas has passed in the last few years limiting women’s access to necessary medical procedures? Texas did a decent thing about Nazis recently. Okay. So? This, right here, is “whataboutism” or at best, “an attempt to derail the conversation and/or silence it.”

The US: “This week has been the worst.”

This. “Oh, this comment or article makes me uncomfortable? What exactly about it makes me uncomfortable? Now I know what, why does it make me uncomfortable? Is there something I’m doing or not doing that I can change or do differently to become a better person as a result?” If the answer is yes, then there you go.

I’m positive there’s also this deeply sexist (and racist, obvs) “only purpose in life is to pop out moar white babies” angle going on as well; it’s the only explanation I can see for the whole “childless” thing. It’s so incredibly sick.

We’re useless because we won’t hop on their boners and keep having opinions of our own. Because, you see, the world OWES them and isn’t following through. It’s never THEIR fault.

That was my other thought. These jackwagons don’t deserve the honor of standing next to Union veterans. I could see not melting them down, but as a poster mentioned downstream, a “statue graveyard” would be kind of cool. These don’t deserve to be relocated to a nice park.

Gee, I didn’t realize history gets completely erased when a set of statues goes away. Doesn’t say much for our archival history. If only we had large rooms in which we kept accumulated knowledge, or managed to find some way to electronically share information!

Relocating statues is pretty much a real life equivalent of moving the goalposts.

I thought of those statistics about seventeen minutes after I posted. It probably is one big ego fluffing party. Is the CEO angling to be part of the cabinet, do you think?

Me either. i’m surprised they haven’t yet; although it does bring them traffic and thus $$$.

I’m still in disbelief that we’re apparently issuing governmental policy via 140 characters on a third-party private service.

Not just that (during that small two minute window of total eclipse, lolololol), but also somehow ensuring conception.

No, not at all.

It might be tart, but I think it’s a fairly level-headed response, especially after the “I wouldn’t put her in that awkward position” comment.

It was an herbivore?

Just photoshop an eagle over the dragon and boom.
