I’ve been looking at this to replace my mom’s aging (2004!) RX330. It seemed to be a better value when compared to the X1 and Q3. She’d go for the non F-sport which has air cooled seats that the competition doesn’t. Ideally she’d get a Mazda CX-5 or something, but she really likes the Lexus dealer experience.

I was up in Carmel in February and wanted to do this drive back to LA and get dinner at Nepenthe, having done the drive a few years back with my mom and my friends. I got all the way down to the closure and then spent an hour and a half going back up to the 101. Was so upset.

Trying to buy a Ford Edge Sport. I had just gone to the LA Auto Show and they would gave you a $50 gift card to go do a test drive. I went to one of my local dealers and they were surprised when I actually wanted to test drive one. They didn’t have any Sports, so they let me sit in a normal Edge. They didn’t seem to

BMW. Their ConnectedDrive system ties in with apps on your phone.

FWIW, My car can control a GoPro camera. That’s pretty cool, I guess.

I feel like quite a few is an understatement. I lived there for three years and heard those damn train horns all the time, especially what seemed like everyday at 1AM and 5AM. My fault for not checking it our before hand, but still.

Thanks for the advice! I actually am in California so that is good news! I do Real Estate on the side and would love to tie that into my love for electronics somehow.

You sound kind of like me. Went to school for a Business degree and ended up working in IT instead. Any advice on getting into Hone Theater? That always seemed interesting especially with all the smart home/automation stuff that’s going on.

And now I know it was not just me!

This is awesome! I’d love to do something like this one day. I’ve messed around with my cars here and there, but nothing like this. Any tips on how to approach such a large project?

I’d believe it. My coworker told me he did the same thing on his leased Infiniti Q50. Not sure why he’d make that up.

Doesn’t Ford sell luxury trucks too? My experience at the three Ford dealers I visited over the two years of owning an Edge was nothing like the experience I’ve had with Audi, BMW or even Lexus and Infiniti. My friend, who has a 500e as a dd has had similar experiences to me.

Ugh. I’ve seen that thing driving around town.

I never actually knew where that was. I always laugh when I see the frames though.

most Ford dealers have showrooms from the 70s, and pretty hit and miss service departments.

Woodland Hills! Born and Raised. Ok, not born, but whatever.

My friend got one because he thought it would be a good idea to get a E90 M3 (he eventually sold it). Leasing and charging the 500e was cheaper and for only (starting at) $69 a month, why not?

Yeah, where is this at?

Somehow there are still cars with un-fixed Takata airbags!

I was in Cancun a few summers ago and assumed all of the taxi’s were just really old (like you said), until my friend pointed out that they were new. Super weird to see new, old cars.
