If the MCU is heading toward a second Secret Wars/Battleworld storyline like many seem to think, it may have to do with who they want to continue in the roles after the universes implode and combine into one and/or set them up to have new actors portray the same heros after the ones from “our” marvel universe are

Yea thinking the same. Easily lets them bring in F4 and Xmen in the rearranged universe without having to explain their absence and seeming lack of existence during Civil War and battling Thanos. Doom gets introduced during Secret Wars, setting up the standalone F4 where they take care of him before teasing Galactus

100% but I think secret wars/battleworld is a step along the way and not the conclusion of the next major arc.

I think Secret Wars/Battleworld is it but servers as more of the “Civil War” stage of this phase and not the “Endgame” stage. Doom gets introduced in that context, gets handled as the Big Bad in the coming F4 standalone movie, and F4 ends on a post-cred scene of a mysterious, silvery figure who appears to “surf” his

Secret Wars/Battleworld makes sense and could be an in for connecting the MCU to the Sony spider verse movies. That's been my thinking

All the focus on multiverse would seem to be leading to a Secret Wars/Battleworld showdown. Would also make sense as a way to bring the Sony Spidey-adjacent movies into the MCU officially, for better or worse. I feel like I remember Madame Web being mentioned as a coming movie, which would support this as well. But

Only if you call it Ooo Wah Ah-Ah-Ah

Really sick of seeing so many celebrities on social media gleefully sharing anti-Trump videos by Lincoln Project. George Conway and all these Federalist Society asschunks are a huge part of why Trump is the face of the Republican Party in the first place. Are we supposed to forgive them and excuse that because they’ve

Very happy to see this! The endless scroll blog format never seemed quite right for AVClub. I hope this leads to bringing back more recurring columns and features and that those columns get highlighted somewhere. Do you even still do 10 questions and Random Roles? I feel like I must miss them in the endless scroll if

Right? I dont hear someone is a youth minister and think they’re a kind, upstanding person; I see an adult who fills some twisted need for control by telling a bunch of impressionable kids what they can and cant do, while not listening to any if those rules for himself.

That’s not the point. They don’t want people of color coming there in a big group. It makes them uncomfortable. The whole interaction is a shitty copout way of saying we don’t want you here.

My god I keep seeing people saying hes the "breakout star" of this season or whatever and I don't get it at all. He just makes a French Stewart-in-Third-Rock-Looks-Like-Im-Holding-In-A-Turd face and talks like an annoyed teenage cashier at Blockbuster every fucking time hes on screen.

Oh man I forgot that show. Everytime a commercial aired for it I got so bummed out. I was never so disappointed in how a show turned out. That was the bleakest, stupidest show I've ever tried to watch. And not bleak in a meaningful or poetic way like 21 Grams or something. Just a fucking miserable slog. Blech.

Christensen left a lot to be desired, but let us not let George Lucas’ shitty directing off the hook here. Lucas was a technically proficient and innovative director, certainly. He was never the kind of director who coaxed great performances from actors.

That is interesting. I think people would (mostly correctly) look at most of the praise for that movie as a product of Oscar Fever at the time and tend to discount it a bit. It's not an all-timer. And that was 25 years ago.

I dont think it is cocaine though. I’m sure to Trump coke is a dirty drug, for losers, its brought in by Mexicans. I’ve always thought hes pumped up on the highest quality prescription amphetamines money can buy. I’m sure in his twisted ego using a prescription is perfectly fine and cool and not for losers because a

Ah the ol' Jacob's Ladder scenario

I know people joke about the whole bankruptcielng a casino thing, but that was a feature. The entire operation was a money laundering front, and when that was no longer viable he claimed bankruptcy as a tax benefit. It’s not like he tried to effectively run a profitable casino. Hes just so hopelessly criminal and

Lol what is the "grift" exactly

I think you're sadly underestimating how many Ben Shaprios there are today.
