I always get excited when I see Dole Whip somewhere as I was previously under the impression that it was only available at Disney parks and the Dole plantation in Hawaii. But there are many little ice cream shops that serve it alongside their soft serve.

That’s brilliant!  I’ll try it!

Pedestrians must be given right of way at zebra crossings and traffic lights, even if they are only showing intention of crossing.

It’s always a treat to see a Ken Saito article on here.  Your writing and photography are some of my favorites.

The talk about the buyback is scary. Manufacturers/dealers don’t just buy back $100k cars all willy-nilly for easily-fixed issues. They’re going to fight it as hard as they can. Anyone who claims that they forced a buyback over something trivial is lying; anyone who claims to have gotten a buyback car that doesn’t

The broader question is really how can we make these kind of decisions for ourselves, without needing to ask an expert for every single unique situation.

I’m not ready to make light of Covid yet — possibly not ever.

Hotel sheets are nice, but I always found hotel towels to be rough, scratchy, and generally unpleasant. I assumed this was because they’re washed so much... and possibly because they’re intentionally made to be less comfortable than home towels to discourage them from walking off.

Welcome to the wonderful world of engineering.

I didn’t even think of hiding real eggs — I thought the article was going to be about how long after Easter properly refrigerated hard boiled eggs could be safe to eat. I am a single person who lives alone and continues to take the pandemic seriously, but I still want to decorate some eggs. I don’t eat them often,

I don’t know anything about vans.  I just came here to say that reading this article first thing in the morning made me really want a popsicle.

Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to find a noisy bag specimen to test myself.

You are correct, of course.  Any time something is free, you’re not the customer; you’re the product.

I was never a fan of pranks just for the sake of pulling a prank. It just teeters uncomfortably close to bullying sometimes. However, a harmless prank could be a fun educational tool if used in the right context.

This sounds like a lot of fun. I hope to see pictures of the event posted next week.

I tricked my customers into doing my job for me.

...even though we are still decidedly mid-pandemic and may still be mid-pandemic by the fall.
