The simple answer is: Do the math.

That’s a good point. It could be a “sneaky” way to inject a little variety into a subject that many find to be dry and boring.

I don’t recall specifically learning about balancing a checkbook in school, but they still teach addition and subtraction, and that’s all checkbook balancing really is*. I do remember completing a finance merit badge for Boy Scouts that involved balancing a simulated checkbook, though.

That’s cool.  It seems like a nice way to give customers peace of mind that they haven’t just made a huge mistake... and a fairly rare occurrence so pretty low-risk for the dealership.

About how many people take advantage of the policy? A car purchase seems like something that’s researched in detail beforehand, so I can think of very few dealbreakers that I wouldn’t find out about until after purchase., so I’d expect very few to want to return a car they just bought.
