“opulent Christmas tree farm lifestyle” i’m crying

I’m sure no one would mind of you picked a few stories to share every day this week. I feel like I read all of them, but last I checked there were over 1,800 comments so I fear I missed something good.

There were actually a lot of comments criticizing posters for adding titles. I tend to think the ones with titles are fake/creative writing exercises.

The staff should just add titles if the writer doesn’t supply one.

Maybe not spooky-scary, but an odd coincidence and it scared the hell out of me at the time.

This has been on my mind since talking about haunted libraries and it may not exactly be a haunting, but still, I remember it well.

Wow. I cannot wait for Jezebel’s epic takedown of Christmas and its detailed explanation of why white women are responsible for every single problematic aspect of the holiday.

Why is it okay to make fun of women who like Fall and pumpkin spice? It’s totally fine if you don’t agree, but why is it cool to act like they are out of their minds? If someone loves Fall and Fall stuff please just leave them alone. Find something important to worry about.

There is nothing too innocuous that a woman can do that they cannot Do Wrong, according to Jezebel.

Why are you acting like America is the only nation with fall celebrations? There have always been celebrations around the autumn harvest. The autumnal equinox is auspiciuos AF in pagan traditions. Thanksgiving does, indeed, have problematic roots, but America didn’t invent fall. Good grief.

Your summation hit home with me so much more than the article. Thanks!

Oh Americans...I didn’t realize that I shouldn’t enjoy Fall or Autumn as it’s known everywhere outside of north America because of basic bitches, PSL or a racist American holiday. The change of seasons is often a blessing. No more oppressive heat, excuse to wear more comfortable clothes, the weather is better, the

Everyone loves fall, and I think the reason because we crave connection with nature. The other seasons sort of slide into each other - mushy winter into wet spring, wet spring into summer thunderstorms - but fall generally ARRIVES, with either a nip in the air or lowering of temperatures from fucking hot to generally

This book sounds great! And I looved the part about the Latin Club tee-shirts, that is adorable. But I kind of *need*  that curated GoT fanfic list after reading this article. pleeeaaaase

Although I will say the fandom also has—Kelly, if you ever want to read a curated list, there are some that, I swear, if these people are not professional writers, they should be. [snip]. But like some of this stuff, it’s some of the best things I’ve read, period.

My wife and I bought a house on see Lake Michigan just north of Chicago. Beautiful views of the water, the city, and the home is spectacular for raising kids. It was built in the 80s, so we didn’t think anything weird would come up. For the first 1.5 years in the house, nothing. The occasional creaky floorboard but

backstory: the school I work at in Vancouver, BC is being seismically upgraded, as are many because many of the schools built in VSB are gaining on 100 years old. In March (2020), before spring break, we all tirelessly packed up our entire classrooms in boxes to be moved over Spring Break to our ‘new school’ for the
