I dunno, they were talking about LIDAR and radar and the angles of the sensors and my brain locked up. That was the key take away though.

I just learned after talking with someone familiar with GM’s autonomous programs, and I’m not sure how well known it is, but the sensors on Ubers vehicles only detect what is in front of the vehicle. GM’s sensors for example go 360 degrees around the whole vehicle so it can tell if something is approaching the vehicle

I feel like it’s pretty easy to tell when a car is speeding but “he looked like he was going 64 in a 50" can’t actually hold up in court right?

Had a similar story. I was going east, an off duty park ranger (not even a cop) was going west. After he passed me, he did a u turn, pulled me over and lectured me how “he didn’t need a radar gun to tell” I was speeding. I was probably going 45 in a 35 so I *was* speeding but nothing egregious. I just kinda laughed

When I saw this car in Opel trim, I was pretty sure it would be my next car. Needless to say I was disappointed when they slapped all the gray plastic on it for sale here. I still kinda want one though.

I actually considered this for my answer. Such a smooth, well-built, and surprisingly quick car. I raved about it for a week.

Looks like there is only one dealer, the rest are service only. And the one dealer only sells Camaros, Corvettes and Cadillacs (mostly Escalades looks like). Here’s the dealer site: https://www.ianallanvirginiawater.co.uk

Yes, because clearly those are the only six people who work in that agency.

My mom had one of those first gen Escalades and it’s still my favorite car either of my parents have ever owned, including my dad’s C3 Corvette and his two newer Escalades in more recent years. If I could find one now that didn’t have 150K miles and wasn’t beat to shit, I’d buy it in a heartbeat.

You’d be surprised how many OEMs are starting to patent their parts to prevent that. Unless its changed in the last year, you can’t get a Ford Super Duty tailgate aftermarket and they cost well over $1,000.

The Jag XJ220.

“TIN CUP” Need to know if it was DVD or VHS copy

I saw a van a few months back, I think it was a Honda Odyssey, with the COOLING SYSTEM hanging out from under the half-gone front bumper, dragging on the ground. I don’t even know how it was still running. That’s not giving a fuck taken to a whole new level.

Since moving here from Missouri a few years ago - a state with inspections - I’ve seen things I can’t believe are allowed on public roads. Truly dangerous vehicles driving around.

I don’t think are any in Michigan period. I checked when I moved to Detroit a few years ago and I think the closest one is in Toledo.

Until the GP gets moved to the city airport anyway.

My dad does a lot of work with car dealers. He’s even heard of these types of lots putting GPS on the cars because they know they’re not going to make the payments. Makes it a lot easier to track down the car and repo it. Then they just resell it and do the whole process over again.

I actually get what he’s saying though about not being able to fix it yourself. To that guy cars probably resemble computers more than they do an actual vehicle. It’s not impossible to work on your car anymore - I’ve worked on my own vehicles plenty - but I feel like some of the more common repairs from 30 years ago

Really hard to tell but my first thought was that plastic piece is part of the crash pad from inside the bumper. Otherwise I’ve got nothing.
