I had the 2wd (well, actually 1wd...I found this out whilst parked next to a curb on the tiniest patch of ice with another car parked close behind. Stuck on ice on an otherwise dry, sunny day). This was my first vehicle with variable speed intermittent wipers, which I made good sport of always finding the perfect

Came here for the GLH. Kinda like the car, really like the initials.

I was in grade school when Star Wars first came out.  My best friend made an R2D2 toy out of a spool from thread, half a ping-pong ball, and a blue marker.  Best Star Wars toy ever.

Weird.  My old VW kept Stalin

And I’ve heard bobcats always land on their feet

Totaling a car to avoid FM radio is entirely worth it

Not really all that clever, but I’ve always loved the “Desert Only” A/C setting found in AMCs.

Doing a round trip between Colorado Springs @ 6400' and Copper Mountain @ +/- 9000' my wife’s Forester XT averages 30 mpg with three people and all our ski stuff, including a big rocket box on the roof. We’ve taken my daughter’s (much older) MDX on similar trips and barely cracked 20mpg. I’m totally sold on the 4

Pretty much what I did with my daughter, but I made the mistake of nomenclature.  When she let out the clutch too quickly and stalled the engine, I messed up and said “you killed it”.  She thought that meant she destroyed the engine.

Get out of my head!  Actually I know grocery store traffic enough to know never drive directly in front of the entrance.  If I need to get to the other side of the parking lot I usually drive behind the store where the trucks unload.

Public transit would take me 56 minutes to get to work.  I can bike it in about half an hour if I take the long way.

That was my thought too. The truck is obviously totaled, will they take the time to rinse out the footwells/dashboard/windshield before taking it to the salvage yard?

Today I was in the car with my wife explaining the code on mail trucks by which you can tell their age. Her face was like this:

I was looking at a car once and found the salesman absolutely grating. I left, came back a day later and told the first guy who offered to help me that the previous guy was a dipshit, and I wanted to change salesmen. He says “yeah, happens all the time”.

I think mine was an ‘84 Ram 50. I’d never used cruise control before, and halfway through Nebraska on a 700 mile road trip I realized I had it. So I thought “Nothing else to do but try to figure it out”.

Funny, it was a car salesman who first told me I COULD get cruise with a manual.  This was in the ‘80's, so maybe it was a more common question.

I’ve always wanted a Kia Soul, but I’d need it in black just so I could describe to people what I have

Yikes.
