I was looking at a car once and found the salesman absolutely grating. I left, came back a day later and told the first guy who offered to help me that the previous guy was a dipshit, and I wanted to change salesmen. He says “yeah, happens all the time”.

I think mine was an ‘84 Ram 50. I’d never used cruise control before, and halfway through Nebraska on a 700 mile road trip I realized I had it. So I thought “Nothing else to do but try to figure it out”.

Funny, it was a car salesman who first told me I COULD get cruise with a manual.  This was in the ‘80's, so maybe it was a more common question.

I’ve always wanted a Kia Soul, but I’d need it in black just so I could describe to people what I have

Yikes.

The guy who cut my hair said he somehow was given a ‘78 Datsun 280Z 2+2 with under 60k original miles. All original, and just needed minor tweaks, but he didn’t want it, he just wanted it gone. He offered it to me for something like $2500. I called my wife, she said ‘no’. I listened. And now I bring it up occasionally

Wasn’t even a parking garage, and it was at my regular airport (Denver). We got there late, saw the shuttle bus already near the stop, so we parked the car and ran for it. Along the way I dropped a pin in Google Maps and stopped thinking about it altogether...until we got back from our trip to sunny California. We

“Nothing more expensive than a cheap German car”

I agree 100%.  I looked at a 2017 something-or-other, and nearly bought it until driving back to the dealer to do the paperwork. I stopped to connect the phone, and it wouldn’t.  I could make calls, but not listen to music.  And no aux port.  Really?  The dealer looked at installing an aftermarket, but the way the

My old Scirocco had no A/C, and I had a brilliant idea to cool the car by going to the car wash before driving home on a 100 degree day. I’d purchased a stick-on dashboard thermometer from K-Mart and it was 130 degrees inside the car when I got in.

Time to build a wheel.  Do it right and your pride in them will last forever.

I’ve heard that argument before, but if you get rear-ended with enough force to push your car more than six feet you’ve got other things to worry about rather than the guy’s bumper in front of you

I dunno...I hate consoles that are too small (my 2012 GTI, I’m lookin’ at you) but that’s pretty big. The balance seems like it should be pretty easy, big enough for a phone but too small to stuff a sleeping bag.

I never really considered an electric motorcycle until this.  One issue I have is that the woman riding it in the pictures seems to fit the bike nicely, but I’m pretty sure she’s a lot smaller than I am.  Question: At 6' 1" would I look like a Shriner riding this?

I was thinking this was more like the “99cent All-You-Can-Eat shrimp buffet” analogy.

First, thanks for not including pictures of bare skin.

The most embarrassing? Probably the time I drove my old Dodge Ram 50 to my girlfriend’s apartment. It was a couple days after a snowfall, with barely any left on the ground but a few patches of ice here and there.  I parked next to the curb on a very slight incline, but my one drive wheel was on ice. Another car

As an American, you lost me at “you lot seem like a reasonable bunch”

I’m a fan of 5-spoke alloys, but these wheels on this car are as much of a badge as anything you scraped off of it.

Van or Astro-van?
