I’ve been waiting years for Torch to go in-depth on the Mach 5.  Sigh...Maybe there’ll be followup articles.

When I was a kid we were allowed a candy bar at each stop. I always chose Bit-o-honey. I let each piece dissolve in my mouth and by the time I was finished we were at our next stop.

It’s Canada, so it’s a 14 METRIC day quarantine.

Sounds like its not an option for you, but we did a nice, long road trip a couple months ago...me, my wife, and my daughter. Three drivers, we set up one of those gym class volleyball-style rotations, each driver had a two hour shift.  Two shifts the first day, one shift each the second day and an 18 hr drive was

High school in the early ‘80's, a buddy was thinking of replacing his Pinto and really liked the Saab 99 and the early 900's. I saw an ad for a 96 for sale, and since the 99 and 900's looked pretty similar I figured the 96 did as well. I convinced him to drive past the car lot, but I couldn’t convince him to get out

I’m totally cool with the change, “crack pipe” didn’t rhyme.

We rented a Rendezvous when they first came out. Our car was small and crappy, so renting the Buick was supposed to be a treat.  It wasn’t.

My uncle still drives a K car. He said he figured out he gets the best mileage at 35 mph, so that’s how fast he drives it.  Be on the lookout.

Oh, yeah! I had an ‘84 (I think) Ram 50, great little truck. It was the first vehicle I’d ever owned with variable speed intermittent wipers.

I had this ‘78 VW Scirocco that absolutely would not cool down. The A/C was broken beyond the point I could consider fixing, and having both windows down on the freeway you’d barely feel any air coming in. I kept a folder on the passenger seat to funnel some air onto me as I drove. One day after work the K-Mart thermom

Mustang SVO was the only American car on my teenage “what I’ll buy when I grow up” list.

If I was better at photoshop the lion would have been holding a hammer

Here’s the new logo...

I’ve been a competitive cyclist from the early days of bmx, through mountian biking, cyclocross, road racing and gravel racing. The one thing I’ve never understood is the love for expensive headsets. The handlebars move, what, 45 degrees? That’s not an application for precision bearings, that’s more in line with what

Agreed on all points except for my own personal reality. We ski at least twice a month, which means a 100 mile drive into the mountains. While we’re not skiing we’re driving the same vehicle around a town which during winter could be cold and snowy or sunny and 60. Sure we could run snow tires, but I’m pretty sure

I saw one similarly modded s2000 on my way to work this morning.  My one and only thought was “That poor car”

As I read this I kept getting distracted by the thought “I wonder if every single person in his family is nicknamed “Torch”.  I’m gonna bet “Yes”.

Thank you for being the car guy I WISH I was. I love old cars, but hate rattles, squeaks, repairs, etc. to the point I’ve found myself being jealous of someone driving a Corolla.  I shall continue to live vicariously through you.

Make sure she gets a car you like.  That’s the way I’d do it anyhow.
