I wanted one of these ALMOST as much as I wanted a Jetta. I went to a VW lot that had one of these...a blue 4wd wagon with 80k on the clock. I called a sales guy over to ask about it and the guy insulted me...laughed at me because at 21 years old he said I looked to young to buy a car (this would have been my fourth).

I was glad to have it back. Just like TG-USA, if you don’t compare it to the original it’s one of the best shows on TV. Sometimes lame and contrived, but mostly a pleasant diversion from reality.

NO! This is currently the best Top Gear on the air!

My daughter convinced me to buy a 2 door car because she thought it was cool how the seats flop forward for her to get in. I wasn’t sure but got swept away by her enthusiasm. On the way home from the dealer she says “Hey dad! I’m hot...how do I get the window to roll down?”. So the whole sliding door thing doesn’t

I was desperate to meet girls, yet I didn’t mind walking...

Not a beetle, but an old type3 fastback. The stick had a little bend to it and it rotated, so instead of an “H” pattern it was more like a sideways “C” or 3/4ths of a circle going from first to third. Soon it will be my daughter’s turn to learn on a VW...this time my GTI. *breathing slowly*

I’ve always thought it was an Eagle Summit/Colt Vista because of how tall it was drawn. But then it never occurred to me to compare the dates.

If we all took a second to imagine TG UK never existed this would be the greatest show on the planet.
