Sure, the number of Peacock subscribers is small, but it’s not that small.

This show is apparently being made just for me.

He could’ve given the same performance, but put him astride, leading, or in front of a dragon and it’d not only be more compelling, it would make more sense.

I meant no disrespect to West Baltimore’s illustrative and prolific craps player.

OK, I went back to actually read the article / watch the trailer. Her ex is played by Adam Scott - I guess that would be a third reason for me to watch this: the Good Place alternate universe spin-off I never knew I needed:

I haven’t seen AV covering We Own This City, but it’s good. It feels like The Wire season 6, with a surprising amount of The Wire cast back in different roles, like Marlo (Jamie Hector) as a cop.

Which of course she isn’t, unless you completely take Minnie Riperton, her mother, out of the equation:

I must confess I actually didn’t bother reading about the plot.

I get that being controversial is a thing. “Kids these days, they’d never be able to make Blazing Saddles today.” Hey edgy, cutting edge. Mmm mmm good.

“What’s on the bag?”

Wild stuff, man.

Katie Rife deserves as warm and as voluble a send off as AA Dowd got in his Iron Man 3 retrospective. Rife has a wonderful appreciation for the psychotronic side of movies, the weird, the bad and the cult-y. This isn’t a perspective you see a lot in film criticism, but it is an invaluable one, which celebrates unloved

I believe Danette is among the group that’s leaving AVC due to G/O Media’s fuckery. I think that group’s last day is early March so this could be her last work for the site. :(   I’d be surprised if they give the show to someone else

If the series doesn't end with Max being set on fire I'm going to be very disappointed.

This show is so special. I’m sad that it’s the last season but so excited to watch it.

I’m just glad so many people here give an F.

It’s pivoting to a bi-monthly curated basket of snacks.

I always appreciated your reviews and I’m looking forward to reading your stuff elsewhere. Whatever my (myriad) issues with post-disqus AV Club, I thought the film coverage remained excellent and insightful. Disappointed to see yet another talented writer leave as the AV Club hastens its transformation into...I don't

A+ A+ Dowd. You’ll be missed.

Thanks for all the amazing work at the AV Club over the past almost 9 years Alex, and I look forward to seeing what you end up doing next.
