I liked the Zabel love interest aspect. Zabel was a bad cop/detective. Mare was a great detective. I completely accept him finding that attractive. And being a bad detective, he completely misses how messed up her personal life is, even after she tells him. I think it makes him sweet and gives his death more…

I thoroughly enjoyed the series. I have zero problems with Frank not telling Mare about his altruism with Erin. Frank’s help arose from Kevin’s death and Mare made it very clear that she didn’t want to discuss it. He was just continuing the family fiction that no one had to grieve for their dead son.

Yes. Fratricide seems like it might come up at a Family Dinner. 

Lucifer is very good. Well worth continuing.

It was directly related to Kevin and Mare was incapable of talking about him at that time. Frank needed some happiness? Altruism? Generosity? after Kevin’s suicide. The darkness around that ended Frank and Mare’s marriage. He just continued the lie/silence he had been telling.

Does anyone remember Lucifer’s brother Uriel from season 2? Good because neither does God or the show’s writers.

Great series. I loved it. My quibbles would be about Dylan and his motivations and Mare and stealing the drugs from lockup. Dylan’s behavior in the penultimate episode really doesn’t make much sense. And his recovery from being shot is nothing short of miraculous.

That’s cool. I’m not rewatching Joker. Probably ever. It definitely cribs from King Of Comedy and Taxi Driver pretty liberally, but I think it steals from After Hours even more. I think we just disagree on degree. 

My memory of Joker is that Murray Franklin thinks Arthur Fleck is a funny “bit,” so Franklin keeps going to that well. Arthur Fleck isn’t obsessed with Franklin, it’s almost the other way around.

I loved Babe, but I’ve never seen the sequel. 

Hell Or High Water is a modern classic!

After Hours. After Hours is the Scorsese film that Joker completely rips off, with some King Of Comedy and Taxi Driver thrown in.

Agreed. Everyone knows matzoh has only two ingredients, sand and glue. That’s what unleavened means. There was also plenty of sand in the dessert that the ancient Jews wandered in for 40 years! Israel and Egypt are about 400 miles from each other. That’s a very very slow walk.
