I hear ya about the color, and I’m pretty sure I’d pick a M2C just like yours. There isn’t a person on earth who thinks my car looks better than yours! lol That thing is vicious.

I hear ya. There’s just something about the M2 that’s kind of generic to me, and it looks like a boat when parked next to my 135i. I do like that they got rid of the 1M’s fake vents in the rear and threw a reflector in there. My 135i is pretty modified underneath, so I’m not comparing to stock, but it still has the…
Yeah, I guess I’m kind of on an island in that I’m not a “BMW guy,” but I happen to drive a BMW. As I said, I thought the 850 and Z8 (and M1) were actually beautiful, but that’s about it. I don’t think of the E82 as beautiful. I think of it as more pugnacious and dramatic, which is cool to me. It’s kind of the way …
I think the regular E82 is beefy enough. My friend had a 1M, and I thought it was a little clown-car’ish and overwrought. Granted, I’m someone who also prefers narrow body Porsches over wide bodies.
Hot take: The E82 was the only BMW that ever struck me in person as cool looking (outside of the old 850CSi and Z8,) so I bought one. Most BMWs look like purposeful family cars, which is their point. Not ugly, but not particularly inspiring. Even though he often missed, at least Bangle was trying to bring a little…
I guess a nail in two coffins is better than one???
Think it’s a Canon camera commercial.
Agassi!
It’s hard to argue with the F1 GTR, since I think it’s the best car, period, so I’ll go another direction:
The entire idea of putting electric motors in vintage cars is unnecessary. It’s about fun.
Nope. It was a common topic of discussion in Cayman forums. Hartech wrote a pretty comprehensive white paper about it.
I believe the answer is “the giver of electric hummers.”
Electric Hummers??? Incels must be stoked about the future!
I’ve been on here over a decade. I must be getting soft.
Accepting a manual gearbox is a large part of why it’s cool to me.
It actually bolts up to existing manual transmissions, which is cool.
Ha, I honestly thought that you were being serious, so I was trying to be kind with that instructional post.
“The block includes everything necessary for the swap to electric except the batteries and the mounting bracket, meaning “motor(s), controller(s), charger(s), sensors, relays and computer systems.” EGT has already designed a number of mounting brackets, and can design others to custom specs. According to the web site,…
It has me looking into all kinds of motor-less vintage rides. Could be dangerous on the pocketbook someday!
IIRC, it’s about 4" longer than an LS, although I’m sure there would be other room saved by having less supporting equipment.
