It’s anecdotal, but I have a friend who’s been leasing a new i3 over the past year, and it’s been in the shop 2 months of that time.

“...thanks to more displacement, twin Weber carbs...”
I’m actually fine with this. Give us all appliance cars as EV SUVs, and give us all fun cars as ICE with a manual transmission.
I’ll get the story board running - I’m dying to cast this thing.
Maybe it’s a Herzog documentary about the door handle in the wilderness.
Is it giving birth to a Lotus??
It was Georg Kacher at Automobile Magazine, and he’s a pretty big deal.
Yeah, they’re even already talking about cancelling the new BMW 8 series.
They’re also going for Tesla upgraders and high end first time EV buyers. If Porsche brought out a car similar in price to the Tesla Model S, it would be seen immediately as a direct competitor. Instead, Porsche has gone the Veblen route and released the more expensive versions first, which will be seen as “better”…
Yeah, my guess is that they’re doing it this way to build brand appeal, because more money means “better.”
The Tesla that can barely get around a track a couple of times.
Really? I’ve never considered a Tesla to be more of a car status symbol than Porsche. Sure, it’s more of an environmental status symbol, like the Prius before it, but, like with the Prius, that will go away as more EV cars come online.
I doubt Porsche would have used the “Turbo” moniker without planning for lower models. If they weren’t planning on lower models, they would have called this one simply Taycan...so they could someday make higher end models.
That’s still for the Taycan Turbo. “Turbo” and “Turbo S” is always the top of the model range, at least based on past Porsches. Surely there will be a lower end Taycan, Taycan S, Taycan GTS, etc. at some point.
The model S handles like a 911? That was the goal with the Taycan.
No, my wife doesn’t give a crap about cars or driving performance. She just wants to sit tall. I expect more than that from posters here who are alleged driving enthusiasts.
The orange car is ugly, too. I actually think it looks 1% less ugly with the stripes.
I’m pretty sure that’s a Tesla, dude.
I buy sporty cars, not wagons or SUVs, but wagons > SUVs. This isn’t a cry to BMW. It’s a cry to other alleged enthusiasts in this forum. Stop buying lame SUVs. That’s what my wife and neighbors buy, not automobile enthusiasts.
