Makes sense to me. I went 996, Gen 1 Cayman, and, then, needing a usable backseat, 135i. Surprisingly, although it’s a bit high, I actually prefer the driving position, steering wheel and seats of the BMW compared to my Porsches (standard wheel and seats.) The 135i is definitely a compromise and doesn’t feel as

I’m partial to these, although I’d only want one with a manual transmission:

I don’t know. I think it’s mostly your run of the mill, crazy Jesus shit.

I just gotta say that I decided to buy tickets today for my family to go to her concert.  My 7 year old is going to flip!!

That doesn’t explain why the 911's (granted, not technically a 2-seater) average buyer is nearly 10 years younger, and the average Cayman/Boxster buyer is younger than that. I also don’t expect the new Z4/Supra buyer to have such a high average buyer age. Heck, the average Alfa 4C buyer’s age is only 45, and that’s

Yep, but they don’t want them. A 30 year old with $50K+ to spend on a car is looking at SUVs, BMW, Porsche, Tesla, etc.

There are lots and lots of expensive cars with a lower average age buyer.  Porsche, BMW, etc., and that’s not to mention what people spend on trucks/SUVs these days.

That’s actually a pretty incredible list of “old people” cars, for the most part, and it proves my point. There are plenty of other brands who sell expensive cars who didn’t make that list, like Porsche and BMW.

That’s cool, but it doesn’t change the fact that the average new Corvette buyer age hovers around 60.

I don’t know. I’m a Gen-Xer, albeit one of the younger ones not even close to retirement, and I’d still rather buy a Cayman or base 911. If they want to appeal to Gen-Xers, they should have called the car Zora, because we remember what dudes were like driving Corvettes in the ‘80s, and most of us likely want no part

Oh, I agree about current BMWs. I drive a 135i, which is crazy looking, but is probably the last great driving BMW.

Well, you get a pass for only being 11. I was begging my dad to buy a third-gen Trans Am when I was 11, so I’m not perfect, either.

And you bought a new Corvette?!?!

There’s a big difference between 30 and 60, the latter of which is around the average age of a Corvette buyer.

With every new generation, the new Corvette is the one that will slay the big boys with outrageous performance for the money, better looks, and a better interior. With every new generation, this is still the new Corvette buyer:

Don’t get me wrong.  I’d take an M coupe over most BMWs, including the M roadster. I’m just saying it isn’t pretty like the MGB GT you mentioned earlier.

That’s pretty normal with German cars. It’s happened to me with my 996, Cayman and 135i, too.

I’m not sure I’m up for having a philosophical, meta discussion on the differences between subjective and objective beauty. I’m referring to the latter.

Expect the MGB GT is an example of a gorgeous car.

I love the M coupe. I’m just saying it isn’t pretty. The M roadster and Z8, on the other hand, are pretty.
