I actually like the MP4-12C, but I agree on everything after that.

The Evora 400 is the 911 fighter, no?  911s have gotten plush enough where I’d consider this over a C2.

Yeah, but it’s a bit like mechanical watches. Everyone knows that a $10 quartz Casio outperforms and outsells mechanical watches, but to many it’s about the journey and experience as much as the destination, and eeking out the extra performance with the PDK isn’t worth the trade off. I’d only give up the manual if I

...and the 911, which still has around a 25% take rate in the US.

It’s usually higher on sports cars in the US. 911, M cars, etc. are over 20%.

I was citing the old ‘80s characterization of it, like Dana Carvey’s character, but, yes, it was not only old ladies.

It’s all relative. I’m sure one can have fun in a CUV, too. The point is that a manual is MORE fun.  What was the last manual you owned, if you don’t think it’s more fun???

No, “Christian” was the put-down. You have the comprehension of a teenager, which, again, is only a put-down in context, assuming you’re an adult. If you’re actually a teenager, then that’s quite a mild comment, but I know that relativity is difficult for you to grasp, so it will likely offend you either way.

I spend way too much time on these Kinja sites, and I’ve never even heard of the MRA, let alone their slogan. Obviously, lame ass Maroon 5 isn’t going to risk their vanilla, nearly middle-aged, careers on this kind of controversy. It’s cleary Matrix dorkism.

I definitely exist, yes. You, on the other hand, spend time trolling these threads looking for outrage. In true horseshoe theory fashion, you’re like the little Christian ladies shouting “Beware of Satan!” at heavy metal music.

I’m a liberal, but not a baby.

Agreed, although, to be fair, it is a bigger car that surely feels different.  Still, the manual would certainly push me towards an M2C, or, if buying used, a 135i/1M/M2 or Cayman.

I’m a liberal, and I generally agree with him. Granted, I don’t mind Maroon 5 getting shit for this, since, you know, they’re awful.

The 8sp is actually pretty good for what it is...but I wouldn’t want either the 8sp or the DCT.

Sports cars are essentially dead, too. Do you suggest we all buy electric CUVs and be done with it?

Yeah, but it was my wife’s car.  8 speed ZF, DCT, 20 year old slushbox, it’s all the same to me. Boring.

I was hoping it looked like this:

Agreed. The same with the 1M. You can buy a 135i for only $15K-$20K, add $5k or so in mods, and have a 1M killer. The 1M is awesome, and was surely worth the price bump when new, but the gulf in price between the 1M and the 135i now simply comes down to collectibility.

No matter. Everyone knows that air-cooled Porsche cables are better, anyways.
