Yeah, these articles are leaving Supra fans fuming mad.
Yeah, these articles are leaving Supra fans fuming mad.
This seriously looks like a Photoshop joke.
I disagree. I think it’s the best looking Mustang since before that Mustang II.
Also:
Absolutely. My point was simply that, no matter the brand, the large majority of drivers buy sports cars to look cool in the parking lot, whether it be Toyota or BMW.
Yeah, when I think old, I think retirees, like over 60. We’re about the same age (born in ‘77,) and I agree with most everything you say. Plus, if we’re talking old guys, aren’t they going to want a manual? I personally won’t buy a sports car without one.
Same here!
Oh man, with those requirements, I’d choose a used Porsche 997.2 all day. I drive a BMW 135i, because I need a usable backseat, but, if I didn’t, I can’t think of anything I’d pick over either a Cayman 987.2 or 911 997.2, if we’re talking under $60k.
Of course a Miata is a great track car, and they’re ubiquitous, but what if you only have space for one car, or like to track your daily? I live in the city with the space for one car, and my last three cars were a 911, Cayman and 135i, all of which go on road trips, go camping, go up the mountain for snowboarding,…
I get that Toyotas are generally more reliable, but BMW focuses on drivability as much as any company. I see a lot more BMWs at the track than Toyotas.
vs. the awful sounding 718 4-cyl? Probably.
Yeah, I’m mostly kidding. I don’t have much interest in M-B cars, but I still know the models.
I must admit, even as a car fanatic who doesn’t happen to know a ton about the M-B lineup, I’m not sure I’d know this thing is the entry level model.
“A cynical critic might be tempted to call this a metaphor for the Supra’s relaunch in general: a mild re-skin that only exists to capitalize on nostalgia.”
Yeah, I just meant it says “more grill!!”
Maybe I should ask slightly differently. Do old men with money care about Toyota sports cars in the US?
Or Toyotas.
They did start reversing course around the time of the N55 and newer, fwiw.
Also, he worked seven years on a car that is essentially a BMW re-skin???
