Yeah, even the N55 is relatively trouble free.
Do old men care about Toyota sports cars in the US?
He reminds me of a close friend of mine, who’s very Christian and is also from Washington...and he’s actually a great guy. I’ve been an outspoken liberal atheist since I was an early teen, and my friend is super Jesus-y, but, as much as that drives me crazy, he’s just a really good, down to earth person, so who knows…
“Listen to yourself, you’d be outside with a decibel meter. Words never said by anyone who ever grew up in my neighborhood.”
Lots of commenters around here drive Porsches, BMWs, Lotus, etc. While $50k certainly isn’t cheap, it’s not crazy like a McLaren Senna or whatever.
Sure thing, but this is a sports car for fun, not a race car.
They same could be said about my 135i, which will put out more horsepower than the Supra with just a tune, and they weigh about the same. Plus, you can get a manual. I’m assuming the handling will be better in the Supra, of course, although spend $5K on new M3 suspension parts and shocks for the 135i, and you’re…
Yeah, that’s an interesting thing to navigate when different cultures combine. To give you a little insight, I’m a white dude who lives in Portland with mostly white neighbors. I get along well with all of my neighbors, and I’d fully expect them to warn me in advance of any party that might be a little loud, let…
Own one in our SUV, but I still wouldn’t buy a sports car with it.
I can’t tell if you’re kidding or not, but that isn’t the hand brake.
Nah, track days are for learning, whether you’re a beginner or advanced. I agree that it’s also smart to learn heel/toe on the street, but the feel is still very different at higher speeds with hard braking.
Yeah, as much as I think the Cayman 4-cyl sounds awful, I’d choose a no option Cayman with a manual over this, if buying new.
That stood out to me, too. Weird.
Those are actually the perfect people to be driving a manual, because they’re out on the track practicing and trying to learn a craft. Fly fishing isn’t exactly the easiest and most efficient way to catch fish, either.
Until you’re as good a driver as Senna, stop thinking it’s the manual transmission that’s slowing you down.
Dust it how? I’m running an N55 at around 380hp in my 135i, and it nearly competes with a stock Mustang GT 0-60 and 1/4 mile. Don’t forget that this Supra is a smaller and lighter car than a Mustang.
Was it an N55 or newer 3.0??
