Exactly. New cars have gotten so expensive that I think a lot of us will hold on to cool cars for a long time.

Me too. I’ll likely keep my ‘12 135i long term, unless I decide to get a Porsche again some day, and I’d get a 997.2 if that happens.
Because some of us don’t like wasting our time. I put a 911 on Craigslist in Los Angeles once. Never again.
Exactly, I didn’t think that the “point-A-to-point-B transportation” people would be on this website. Lame.
Yeah, but the point is, if you’re buying the car based simply on how it feels in traffic, you’re on the wrong website. I drove for years in LA with a 911 that, which I found out later, was missing the clutch booster spring. All of the non-traffic driving made it worth it.
Counterpoint. I drove a stick in LA for years. I don’t mind doing it in stop and go much, and all of the other fun, non-traffic drives make it worth it.
Same with Ricky Gervais, and he speaks out quite a bit about PC-ness.
This guy is the Schrodinger’s cat of athletes. He’s both athletic and un-athletic at the same time.
I’m pretty sure that’s a Supra, dude.
I don't think so. I believe the Arna had an Alfa engine, and the Cherry had a Nissan engine, so that pair is more like the Mazda MX-5/Fiat 124.
Ah...nothing like Toyota prestige with BMW reliability and parts pricing. Is it Opposite Day???
I do think manuals still equate with enthusiast. Driving is an art form, and, when you’re not driving the world’s fastest cars, it’s as much about the journey as the result. Think fly fishing vs. reel fishing.
“As I’ve said before, a car absolutely does not require a stick to be the pinnacle of entertainment in a car. I’d much rather take the revamped suspension and driving feel than a manual.”
“Wealth is increasingly concentrated in cities where it sucks ass to drive a manual car.”
The number is trending down a little, but according Swapalease.com says that, in 2015, 81.2% of manuals were driven by males, fwiw (they research 50,000 leased vehicles.)
God damn it, I’m right there with you. Luckily, I think I may try to hold on to my 135i forever, and I’m trying to cut down on smartphone usage, so hopefully the SE will last a while longer for essentially just email and web.
