I guess the difference is between owners of these cars who take them to Porsche Club events vs. people who get internet stats hard-ons. Few in their right mind would think a 991 is more fun than just about any 911 before it, outside of competitive racers looking for times over all else.

Bingo. I’ve only owned and driven “plebeian,” standard issue 911s, and I’d also take a 997 over a 991 all day. Heck, the 987c may be my favorite water-cooled Porsche. I miss that car.

Pass. I’m saving to buy a turbo refrigerator.

Nah. Real purists think the current sports cars aren’t much fun, either. I could care less if Porsche stays in business.

Ugh, McLaren hasn’t made a pretty car since:

True, although the VR4 also weighed almost 3800lbs.

FWIW, even Richard Dawkins isn’t able to say with absolute certainty that god or an afterlife does not exist, and he says that most atheists feel the same, because atheism arises from a lack of evidence and evidence can always change a thinking person’s mind.

I understand their corporate strategy to sell out and make four door cars (Boxsters and Caymans are great btw,) and it’s worked well for them financially. I simply wish they’d continue making somewhat simple drivers cars with feel, and I think that’s starting to become lost. The 991 has essentially become the 928

“The point is that it’s still fun to drive while providing all the benefits of an SUV...that’s not really a good argument against its existence.”

I mean I’d be embarrassed to own one, but it’s obviously difficult to quantify “cool.”

It’s still embarrassing. I’m sure Porsche could also build the best mini-van, too.

Man, I couldn’t do it. After coming from two Porsche coupes, when I had to buy my dadmobile, I just couldn’t stomach the idea of a “sorta” Porsche. It feels like heresy. I got a BMW X3, instead, because BMW has always made “sorta” sports cars with an element of practicality, so I think CUVs are still in their

missed one:

I really only find that Z to be terribly good looking, and the Eagle and Celica are ok.

I still can’t imagine a single object ever made that I’d choose over an F1. Maybe an actual fighter plane??

I don’t think it’s mutually exclusive. Mayweather said before the fight that his style would be different, and it was, but he still planned the 12 rounds like usual and observed the first few rounds. Once he confirmed his game plan, it was on. It was entertaining, but it really wasn’t close.

Boxing is a sport of attrition where keeping your head moving and arms up is paramount. Plus, Connor probably took more shots to the face in this match than his entire career prior.

Yeah, Floyd could probably be his coach for 5 years, and McGregor still won’t beat him. It’s like a muscle car chasing a Ferrari around a track.

Just awful!!!

Fine by me, as long as Daniel Craig gets to be the next Wonder Woman.
