"This figure goes against what a lot of people are saying about it being a disappointment. "

And this, right here, is why I'm glad you write for Kotaku. The comments here prove it: we need more progressive voices in video games like you.

Apparently you've never read a review from Kotaku, or most major publications. The first person hardly precludes it being a review, or even a good review; it's a report of one's experience, and using the first person removes the illusion of pure objectivity, which is impossible. And obviously, this isn't a full

I certainly wasn't ever forced to play Fire Emblem games. I happen to love that kind of game. When I'm playing a game like that, where there are romantic relationships, and there CANNOT be homosexual relationships, I feel left out, and emotionally hurt. It makes me feel like I'm less valuable as a human being (in some

If it DOES affect her review, that is a perfectly fair scenario. Reviews are inherently subjective. A German might review the endless stream of World War II games of yesteryear quite differently than an American. I might review Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom quite a bit differently than an American (I'm

There are other gaming websites (such as "IGN") where you don't have to read about gender & sexuality issues.

Hernandez is a game journalist, it is her job to play and write about games. Is your argument here really that she shouldn't have done her job in this instance simply because no one was forcing her to do it? I think Totilo would have something to say about that, but even if it weren't her job, it's absolutely

I'm reviewing the game. So it's literally my job to do this, and in doing so, will hopefully inform people who might care about this. They in turn can seek out other games that might fit their needs better, if so they wish.

But It'll be so useful! I could tap you on the shoulder to get your attantion. I could point at which vodka I wanted in my red bull. Open bathroom door handles without touching them. Give props to the DJ. Flag a cab. Use it like a judges gavel. "From the windoooow to the wall!" would be more entertaining. Safer than

Chicago cops ain't got nuttin' on the Indian police...

Your skills need patching.

People complain of 'cheating' AI, but I'm honestly amazed the game lets the AI do the same ludicrous maneuvers you can as a player. Of course, 99 times out of 100 that police car would have been toast in that situation, lucky bounce.

I can't say how many times I do the "hit the brakes and they'll fly right past" technique from Top Gun. And it works like 90% of the time. I'll throw on my brakes, they'll all fly up around me, I go reverse, forwards and back in the other direction.

There are 14MB of GIFs Kotaku's front page.

Did anybody ever get the sense that Belle was a bit pompous?? Like for fucks sake, we get it, you're smarter than these lowly French people from your hometown. Always rubbing in their goddamn faces that she's meant for more. My loyalty is with "Monsieur". The man makes complex carbohydrates for a living. That's just

Aw, I have a similar epically romantic proposal. While my future husband and I were shopping for maternity clothes (yeah, I was knocked up), we stopped at a mall food court for lunch at Arby's and mid-bite of some roast beef I heard his sweet words: "Soooo do you want to get married soon errr...?" I made him sweat it

...that was a joke. >_<

It's not like there are multiple consoles with games that run better on one than on the other, oh wait...

Did you come from the gaming past of 1998? It's nowhere near that hard. Do you have a recent PC? Do you have a decent video card? Congrats, you can play 95% of PC games at atleast High settings. If you have a NVidia card, you can download a program that optimizes everything for you. Honestly it isn't anywhere near as
