For me, a big part of games is being able to talk about it with friends and other gamers. Generally speaking, I'd say the lower the average score, the less popular the game will end up being (at least with people I'd talk about/play it with). There are exceptions- ie Madden/FIFA games could get 9.5 or 10s but I'm…
Call it out! By any means necessary. I love when singers break character to do this... And if it takes the violence-begets-violence approach, which is the only language that macho meatheads will understand, then fine by me. So, I say good on ye Mr. Lewis. "The underlying causes for this type of behavior need to be…
I beg to differ. I am a huge fan of "I WILL BEAT YOU UP AND MAKE EVERYONE ELSE BEAT YOU UP IF YOU DON'T STOP" . Cuts to the chase.
I think threats of violence are completely appropriate in this circumstance. There was no time for structural education and he couldn't have just said that what the molesters were doing was wrong, because the molesters don't give a crap. Being threatened is much more convincing.
It's got its hit or miss moments, but I felt the whole thing was worth the $60. I finished it on Saturday and that was about 7-10 hours a day for 5 days.
And as far as I could tell, there were multiple points where you can't continue unless you use your gun or, at the very least, use outright violence.
I'm too busy to play a game, so let me sit down and write an article about how I don't have time to play that game.
You should really just go ahead and play the game. It's incredibly addicting. I couldn't stop playing it all week long because it sucks you right in. I had my doubts at first, but they all disappeared as soon as I started the game. It's beautiful through and through. I'm on the PC and it's glorious.
Exactly. Had Ubisoft avaided guns 100%, all of the GTA, COD, and Battlefield fan(boy)s would have thrown a bossy fit because the Game actually required thought and strategy. It is a step, and as the games go on, I belive guns will become less and less available, or at least fully electronic so they can be hacked. It…
You know everyone talks crap on this game for having guns. If you ask me I think more people would be disappointed if it didn't have guns. Hear me out. I believe Ubisoft made a wise decision. Yes, at first this game did look like it could completely revamp the way we play games like these, with hacking only, but I…
This. The people complaining likely haven't played the game. Much like Deus Ex you CAN get go in guns blazing or try and sneak/hack your way around. Keep in mind at no point was this game billed as an RPG along the lines of Deus Ex. If you watch the trailers... guns were a-blazin!
There is little to no shooting. You can literally kill or flee most confrontations or even hack your way in from the sidewalk outside and not have to interact with anyone.
It feels to me that the Kotaku people have a special kind of hate for WD. The review and now this? Are you people serious? There are far worse games you gave YES to... with all due respect, I think you guys are over-reacting a bit.
Watch_Dogs is awesome, I really dont understand the hate for it. Dont like the story? Ok... I loved it! Its not about Aiden but about the fact that your life isnt yours anymore in this day and age.
I see Watch Dogs more like Deux Ex: Human Revolution than GTA in terms of gameplay mechanics. You have different playstyle potential available to you, and it is the gamer's decision whether or not to use it. I think the phenomenon you are seeing is from everyone having high expectations that it is a "Hacking" game,…
Don't listen to the haters. Just realize it is a game and not some giant leap to the next step in gaming. It's a great game with some flaws, not really unexpected for a new IP. Hacking is the best part of the game, but there are lots of ways they can (and hopefully will) improve it in the future. There are lots of…
I like Watch Dogs, and I am still in Act II playing it. I understand people's disagreements with Aiden Piece being an "Empty Personality", but I think he was designed that way. He was created in a way that leaves him open to the Gamers interpretation. You want to play the good hearted vigilante that only kills…
I really enjoyed the game and the online is the strongest feature of the game, by far. But people needs to stop seeing it like a GTA-like, because it is not really.
+ the Watch dogs hate and negativity isn't global. It's from some points on the internet. I still don't get why. Usually when people dislike a game, they…
