Yeah, but that just means you're both wrong. Denis Lawson is a good actor though. Star Wars didn't make him — nobody was scrambling to give work to X-Wing Pilot #249, and his appearance in the films is seen as more of a curiosity in the UK ("Oh shit, that is Denis Lawson!") because it's easily forgotten. You're not

Why has no one thought to put a dope backing track to auctions before?

Ha ha!

I saw this last night, and my only thought was, "Aww, glamorous bunny!"

Scanning through, and in case I missed somebody... am I the only one other than Burt who knows who Alice Donut are? Or just the only one who cares? Probably the latter, right :(

Yes, I agree. We end up with a frustrating standstill, where pro-regulation governments will sit on their hands rather than look like they actually are pro-regulation, and their anti-regulation successors will simply roll back whatever quiet advances were made by the previous incumbents.

It does depend on culture to some extent though. Eating is a social activity in my country too, but I was still taken aback by the sheer amount of food people eat away from the home in the USA. Additionally, it takes a lot of cooking experience to recognise that the meals from the health food/alternative restaurant

But that is the only course of action you can take right now. I don't think it's fair to be angry at her for that. If the system can be changed, it's going to change slowly through campaigning alone, and in the meantime you're the only person who can change your diet because right now the food industry's not

It's fine. In the UK, we'd write a long form date with the "and"s.

"Eve" in this case doesn't mean "evening". They seem to be using lots of non-US conventions, and in the UK and many other English-speaking countries, "the eve of" means "the day before". Unless you specify a time period, that could be day, night or both.

Indeed it does, sorry! I knew I'd seen other pieces that debunked the "executed by dogs" thing, and when I went to find a link with Google, the Snopes one came top so I had a quick scan-through and thought, "Yes, that seems to cover it". I had mistakenly thought the entire execution story had been found to be a myth.

:) *whispers* The haircut thing though: not true

Both he and his father have been the kinds of rulers you don't mock, yes. However, the story about him executing his uncle was not true. It grew from a piece of satire into a "fact"http://www.snopes.com/politics/war/k…

The Daily Mail is a publication that regularly produces stories. Some of these stories are fact, some of them are based in fact and some of them are not even close to fact. But when they've published stories in that last category, they have to apologize and they usually do so in a big way.

Also the film Tekkonkinkreet, maybe a bit of Tony Hawk, some Assassin's Creed level design in spots... love the world, just not sure about the characters.

I understand that the console companies have a lot of costs to cover in order to provide digital services. The thing I don't get is why the Sony and MS charge the customer directly.

So come on and give it to me, anyway you can
