I don’t hate this direction that What If? is taking, but I did absolutely find myself eye-rolling when it became clear they were going to tie things together.

Honestly, even though I know there’s some fatigue of open-world games going around (same), if any series has a right to do one, it’s Metroid. Some of the games in the series are halfway there as-is. It would have to be done right, maybe a small planetoid that you explore the entirety of—inside and out, b/c obviously

This is making me tear-bend.

My favorite little bit in this episode is the silly, exaggerated way he climbs the ladder as he’s trying to run away at the end.

Other than a potential ripple effect from gentrification, why would the library cause low income housing to be demolished? And did you seriously just argue that traffic during construction is a reason we should rethink this project?

Issues with putting a non-public institution in a public park aside, the gentrification worries are sort of outside of the point—You can be upset that the city has not made any guarantees that they will help preserve low-income housing in the neighborhood, but arguing against any new development in a poor neighborhood

Crimes of Grindelwald is one of the worst experiences I’ve had in a theater. Not the worst movie I’ve seen, but it was so particularly disappointing. It was so poorly written and directed. The plot was overly complex and flat-out didn’t make sense in places, and most of the characters had no discernible personalities

I swear to god, men will jump through so many hoops to find a reason to shit on something involving/focused on women so they can justify their hatred even when it’s clearly just straight up misogyny.

Considering how lop-sided the narrative has been for over 20 years—Clinton’s version is a small part and the rest is the media taking it and running with it without hardly any input from Lewinsky other than to call her a whore—I don’t really give a shit. It’s still bound to be closer to the truth than any other

Look, I love Galifianakis and they both had longer hair and a beard I guess, but Redford is one of the prettiest men who ever lived. Galifianakis is actually a handsome dude, but come the fuck on. I feel like I’m taking crazy pills.

I sort of had a mixed opinion on him after watching Yes, Dear, which I liked hating on despite watching a lot of it (Why? Because I was 14, who knows), but the more I’ve learned about him and seen him in the more I like him. He seems like a super nice guy and I genuinely had no idea he was a writer and a showrunner.

I truly hate defending Disney/Marvel in any situation, they really don’t need it, but this is a whole bunch of stupid, waste-of-time BS. It’s just marketing doing their job. It’ll revert to Sam within a week—probably faster now that the empty husk of the AV Club got its hands on the story—and that will be that.

The MCU is littered with great actors/characters whom were just discarded and we’ll probably never see again .... but I don’t know if any are as good as Peggy Carter. Hayley Atwell is a big part of it, she’s just oozing charisma and she just gets it as far as acting in a comic book/MCU movie. So I enjoyed the hell

You’re not wrong about Trinity’s makeup. I’m not sure what happened—it was so much better on her first season. I still think she’s stunning, one of the best runway queens we’ve ever had, and an all-around talented performer and entertainer, but the makeup is just a bit off this season.

Same! And look, SNL doesn’t need anyone to defend it, but there’s room for other types of sketch comedy. SNL is its own thing and we’re lucky for it, but I’m SO happy Robinson is doing his own weird-ass thing because it’s completely different from what he could have done on SNL and we’re lucky to have it.

I didn’t read any romance at all into them chatting. Like, not in the slightest.

Look, it’s still weird he brought that up and Stewart does seem to have ... drifted a bit ... but stop conflating the lab leak stuff with the “created as a bioweapon” conspiracy shit. The lab leak is still unlikely, but it’s likely enough that legitimate intelligence experts are investigating.

Consider me ... underwhelmed. We’ll see, but the sorta-shitty animation doesn’t inspire confidence.

This is seriously one of the saddest articles I’ve seen on this site yet, and genuinely might be the final straw for me. Maybe it’s finally time to remove y’all from my bookmarks. I have Twitter for surface-level reads and discussions of nothing-burger stories.

I can’t really form an argument against that word dump you posted before, but great use of a thesaurus on this one! First, I very much agree with you about the Night King’s final scene. It was perfect. So I don’t know why you’re harping on that. I mean that a huge chunk of the series came down to a one-episode
