I had a blast, even if it’s far from perfect. My only real complaints were how boring Raiden and Shang Tsung were .... they were both SO MUCH FUN in the original.

This film is such awesome stupid fun. Diamond powered-lasers? Evil apes? TIM CURRY in his absolute weirdo prime? Some of the cast is boring, but the ridiculous parts more than make up for it.

Having watched it .... I had a blast. Yes, it was dumb, but mostly in ways it was VERY aware of and having fun with. It’s very much worth your hour and 45 minutes!

I’ll watch Patti Harrison in literally anything, and I’m so excited to see her get to stretch a bit for something like this. 

You’re very right about it being a deconstruction, but none of that is why the last two seasons were so bad (not just received poorly—they were bad). I don’t know how often I and so many others can reiterate this: It’s not what happened that pissed me off, it’s that it wasn’t earned.

That was absolutely NOT what I was expecting, I really enjoyed some of those! I always had the impression he was more of a second-rate metal artist who got by on his image before spinning that into the awesome guy he is, so I am happy to be proven wrong and to listen to more of his stuff.
