According to a Consumer Reports article from December 2020 on the Best Used Cars and SUVs for Less Than $5,000 (in which reliability is a factor in their choices):

Now, I can anticipate all the folks in the comments screaming “This kid wants reliable and you recommend a Volkswagen!” That’s why you want to focus on the 2018 and up models as they came with a six-year/72,000-mile warranty.”

Underrated comment. I’m still laughing after reading this.

My last trip to India was in 1996, so I’ve missed out on a lot of the industry developments there. When I was there though, I got to drive around in my cousin’s Maruti 800 a few times on rural roads (which is where I learned stick) - that thing was so underpowered but still a hoot to drive.

Apologies, I think I did.

Deep breath, friend. I volunteered and voted for her. Just trying to lighten the mood.

That title seems too long.

Nice.

The Amazon always reminds me of the Fiat 1100D (and later Premier Padmini).

But then you’d have to own a Chrysler 200.
