Sounds like an Amish making his first foray into the modern world and not willing to give up his version of “creature comforts” just yet.

They obviously dance to “Smooth” better than that horse did.

Should be No. 19, no?

Laneplitting bothers me most in heavy congestion/gridlock/jams. Fast moving cars are not possible in those situations. Fast moving motorcycles are. That is the issue. Period. It doesn’t happen, or doesn’t phase me, in open, flowing traffic.

Dude...no need for hostility. There is no war. There is concern from one motorist for the well-being of others. I just happen to feel that the way I act in heavy traffic due to lanesplitters puts other motorists’ safety at risk because I’m compensating for something that isn’t legal to 95% of the country. Yes, I grew

Trust me...my argument is FAR, FAR from “it’s not fair.”

Perhaps that’s another reason I don’t get it. I see lanesplitters as guys who enjoy the fact that they can do it, fearless, and nothing more than eager to get through traffic. It sure doesn’t seem like many are fearful of the practice, given the speeds that I see most guys going through traffic jams.

I’m definitely not an aggressive driver. I err on the side of caution all the time. Unless the road is completely empty, in which case who doesn’t like to have some fun. But emotional? Yea, I guess a bit. In gridlock, you’re looking for spaces you need to take, not human sized projectiles coming your way. Again...I

I feel like this is the problem, though. I do all those things. Mirrors, signal, then oh shit here’s a dude coming 45 through 5mph stop and go traffic that I couldn’t see when I initially checked my mirrors. But according to the law, I am responsible if I hit that guy. And in today’s litigious state of society, a

I guarantee you I’m one of the better drivers on the road based on my experience here. I can’t react to shit I can’t see that appears because of something that is illegal in 49/50 other states in this country.

I’ve been a Californian for 3.5 years now. It still terrifies me.

I do. The problem is that in traffic, opportunities to change lanes are not there all the time. If I check my mirrors and see an opening I need to take, then begin to merge over, and a motorcyclist has lane split from where I couldn’t see him prior, I’m the asshole. When, in reality, I simply did exactly what I’m

This, however, is incorrect. I feel less safe. If I feel less safe, other drivers are not because I’m overcompensating and will inevitably do something wrong in the opposite direction. I don’t want this to become a war, but 2-wheeled motorists being able to technically break a rule of the road (stay in your lane) does

As a 4-wheeled motorist in the state of California, lanesplitting terrifies me. It has made me a much more paranoid driver which in turn makes me hesitant at time, which I’m sure makes me seem unsafe to other drivers. I constantly worry that the one time I forget to triple-check my mirrors, I’m gonna take a guy out.

Cruella de Vil has filed suit against Mercedes for stealing her vehicle.

Semantics. They say power the car, but do not say power the motors. To power the car could be just to power all the internals. It could also provide SOME power to the motors, but they’re using the English language in a very tricky way here. Gotta be careful with that interpretation.

Ah...fair. I misinterpreted. Thus far, no death threats.

That hardly seems like a threat.

I wonder if this is a 5-speed only problem, since the Ford 6-speeds had (and I assuming still have) the little pull-up mechanism to engage reverse. Never had any problems with that in my FoST.
