Perhaps they believe that having it, regardless of where it is, is better than a competitor having it? I mean that doesn’t seem that far fetched.

I know we like to think that we Jalops are the exact target audience but I really think we’re niche. I want to see the ratings and see if there was a dropoff. If you’re right, and the later segments on FS1 are lower than the earlier segments, then kudos. Let’s wait and see.

I’m going to be real interested to see what the ratings are for the segments on FS1. That will tell us if Fox should have actually given a shit. I’m skeptical.

Legit question, and I didn’t notice that. I don’t have an answer for that.

Well I’m very privileged to be one of those 13, then.

WEC and even F1 are not mass appeal sports. And really, IndyCar isn’t either. Auto racing other than NASCAR is a complete nonstarter in the US.

I will say, though, that giving up on an entire series because of the weather for another huge event on your network seems a bit of a kneejerk, harsh reaction...

Don’t necessarily disagree. Just trying to offer insight as to why what is happening is happening.

In fairness, they have a HUGE money deal with the USGA and weather played a big part in how this US Open has progressed. There’s no way they could have known prior to...like...yesterday.

Remember that/those time(s) when Chris Evans reportedly threatened to quit? Major missed opportunity there.

I’m highly interested in the 20d. I’d love to know if, coming from a Focus ST, it’s going to give me enough fun factor that I won’t gouge my eyes out or castrate myself whilst driving. Also...are you driving the FWD or AWD, both, and is there a marked difference if you get to drive both?

Ah yes....the regularly scheduled “(Thing that isn’t shit) is shit” post from this fine journalistic website. You can almost set your watch to it.

I’m 248 but was just outside the city limits and worked downtown for my first 5 working years, until I moved out of state. I spent a TON of time in Detroit proper, as my dad worked in Detroit when I was growing up. Don’t judge anything by area code lol and I don’t even know where 616 is haha.

I haven’t lived in MI for a few years now, but when I worked downtown Belle Isle was always kind of a refuge from the riff raff. Never saw any of that on the Isle and I spent plenty of time there.

I totally agree...but why must we showcased during a national, high profile racing series? We can’t even make one thing nice? FFS

The problem with that is...some of the bumpiest parts of the circuit are those that are not on that fill soil. The last 3 turns and front straight are actually pretty decent.

As a native Detroiter, I’m really embarrassed that the race in the Motor City is almost more about driving carefully than it is about driving fast. It’s great that there’s still a race there, but they really need to consider a major overhaul. Hell...I wouldn’t mind making Belle Isle a permanent raceway....or at least

If that’s the case, that it’s due to the layout, why not have him stay out one more lap and make ABSOLUTELYDAMNSURE you’re ready? It’s not like he was gonna get caught in one lap. That’s a complete fuckup top to bottom.

Holy fuck just cancel/postpone them already. There are so many reasons to, not including Zika. Gonna be a total shitshow if they go on. Shivers.
