Enforcement of proper English language usage is a part of systematic oppression against minorities, don’t you know?

How about a flat tip of $2 per person, minimum 10% to a max of 20% of the after-tax total? Serve yourself places, $1 per person, no min or max. Seems fair to me, in a state (CA) where employers aren’t allowed to count tips towards min wage.

I ran an ASUS router with custom firmware for many years. Then I went to buy a new router... ended up returning all of them. Went with the WiFi modem my cable company offered and am perfectly happy. I recommend this to everyone now.

So this got me thinking... the time to buy points is when:
1) You will be in the house past the break-even point from buying the points, and you can comfortably spare the extra cash up front to buy them, in addition to all your other costs in buying the house, AND/OR
2) The bank assesses your house for more than the

I’ve heard that organic really makes the most difference with animal products. So I’ve given up organic except for meat and dairy, except for cases in which I need a product with no artificial stuff. Even in those cases, “all-natural” is often good enough, if available.

I’ll start out with one of the biggest issues, eating out. Now I am not here to be down on eating out but if you do eat out a fair amount you should be cutting down your grocery bill accordingly. For a while, I was buying enough groceries to eat at home 90% of the time while at the same time our family was eating out

The problem is, a lot of manufacturers over the last 3-5 years have skipped 5Ghz Wi-Fi and Gigabit Ethernet in favor of 2.4Ghz only and Fast Ethernet, purely for cost reasons. You have to double check these things. The Fast Ethernet cheap-out especially drives me nuts, because we’ve had Gigabit Ethernet for almost 20

Sorry. There’s no topping KFC coleslaw, which is hands down the best.

When buying oil, always use the cold viscosity specified by the auto manufacturer. If the car calls for 10w-30, you need to use 10W-x where x is at least 30. Otherwise the oil is not providing the proper protection on cold startup.
Now the hot viscosity can go up a bit if the engine is older. For example using 10w-40

Yes! Thank you for this! Cheap-o drivers that can’t handle less-than-perfect power end up wiping out your savings from LEDs through more frequent bulb changes.
Also another dirty secret about LED bulbs... the majority of them cannot be used in an enclosed fixture. The LED drivers don’t get cooling in an enclosed

Isn’t “mildly cranky” the natural state of most Americans? Little wonder it would show up via pop media consumption of any type.
I don’t know that this is better than screen time if screen time were limited to properly curated content such as Amazon Freetime. The value is in the content not the lack of a screen.

Damn clickbait. Am I reading news headlines or watching Jeopardy? I never know anymore.

Letting the person who cooks buy the groceries. My wife doesn’t cook much, and cooks simple, but I was doing the grocery shopping. I was overbuying and then we were eating out anyway. Letting her buy groceries, she buys less than I would because she knows what/when she will cook.

Oh darn I can’t do anything about it until a panel of experts weighs in.

They even pick on the dumb fat white (yellow) guy! D’oh! I call foul!!!! lolol

I had a bit of a reverse situation once. Sent in a rent check without a signature and the bank cashed it anyway for the landlord, for which I was grateful. I assume that they reviewed my account and figured out I probably meant to sign that check... lol

Sorry YouTube, the train has left the station.
First, I blocked YT and allowed YT kids because my kids were starting to talk and act disturbingly.
The same crap showed up on YT kids, so I blocked YT AND YT kids.

I have exactly one bill that can’t be auto paid: my earthquake insurance premium through Mercury. I can autopay my auto and home insurance through Mercury, but they told me over the phone there is no way to do it with earthquake insurance. Makes no sense, but my bank has bill pay, so there you go. It’s the only bill I

I login to my bank and CC accounts every couple of days and recognize every one of the transactions. If I don’t recognize something, the hunt is on for why it is there.
Lately I’ve been using the Clarity Money app for this purpose instead of logging into my bank. It has the benefit of categorizing my spending, which I
