the 3d experience still sucks. I have to pay $5 more, try to balance cheap sharp plastic 3d glasses on my nose with my glasses still on, have to readjust them every time I look down to get my popcorn, and learn to deal with the dizzy feeling that follows.

Thank God someone who is standing his ground on the 3d crap in favor of real quality. Film this in IMAX please & get the industry to quite giving us this un-perfected 3d crap and give us 4k, something we can all appreciate

the reviews for fring have been tanking since it got rid of skype. They better make it better quick

@swissdude: then how do they claim to prevent malicious programs & viruses or data steeling apps

I'd imagine it probably is not too sneaky to put a tethering app in a flashlight app. You prob won't have to look far into the code to realize its not just a flashlight. I can't believe this got through the review process. Obviously the review process is doing nothing to prevent harmful code cause it doesn't look like

@jsbaugh1: Yeah, you probably won't drop calls often. The phone will work till about -113db so even a 20db drop won't make a huge difference unless you have below a -90db signal to begin with. My Evo looses bars when I cup my hand over the top, but 3 things make the iphone problem worse and popular news, its in the

@Sidetalker: Do you get a data speed drop when you touch the side? Thats easy to measure. From what i've seen, it affects all iphones and the drop is 20db give or take. Apple already admits that the calculation for displaying bars is wrong so you can't go by that. But engadget, consumer reports, and some others

my 70 year old grandmother has a facebook and actually uses it...times are a changing

@Sidetalker: you don't consider it a 'problem' if just touching (not even holding) a 'phone' on the left bottom corner (where I personally hold my phone for most browsing) creates an automatic 20db signal drop on all devices? Seems like a problem to me. And a problem with a device that sells 3 million units in 3 weeks

I think this shows that there is a larger problem with the iphone4 than whats going on with the other phones that apple used as examples.

@Odin: If apple completely redoes the antenna for the next gen, it will probably show that they know this current version was a dumb idea.

There are death grips for most phones. On the evo, it will loose signal if I cup my hand around the top. But apple made a serious design mistake by exasperating this problem and putting the antenna on the outside, right where you hold the phone. Are they really that dumb?

So, Steve Jobs knows there are issues when you cover the antenna as he demoed at the conference and the website, so they go and put the antenna on the outside right where your hand goes. WOW. Apple really effed this one up

So there is no software issue, no hardware issue other than what exists on other phones already, but we feel the need to hold this conference and give out free cases? They still won't admit that they 'CREATED' this problem by the antenna design. The 3gs, while its not the best at signal strength (ATT isn't helping

Every antenna engineer (I am an engineer also) has said its a hardware related matter. Plus, its not just voice thats having issues, holding the phone will cause data to stop as well (depending on your signal). Sorry NYT, your wrong on this one

@SAThorn: Everyone has the issue, it just only has catastrophic affects if your in a low signal area. Its as if ATT all of a sudden reduced the power of its antennas by 20db. It would affect everyone but only the people who had 20db or less of signal would drop a call.

Too bad you can't disable the Motorola UI. On my evo, if I want to get rid of Sense, I can disable it right in the menus. If you can't make things perfect, and it looks like motorola didn't, just make it optional. Most of the phones issues stem from the UI. Personally, I like Sense the best but i'm extremely happy its

@TheSonOfKrypton: well...you cant see it in the browser. But i don't think he realized that youtube vids will auto open in the youtube app

Is gsm the only thing affected by the death grip? Has anyone done any signal tests for bluetooth, wifi, & gps?
