Great opening paragraph lol

Yuh. Like a fine wine.

As the parent of a trans teenager, I look forward to checking this out. It’s been quite a journey, and there aren’t many artistic touchstones to shed any light along the way. I did enjoy Always Jane, but (aside from the fact that it’s a documentary and not a drama) Jane was so far into her transition and so able to

Always used to call her Smelly Fartado

I thought X was just a decent self-aware slasher film, pretty good but nothing terribly original. Within about 20 minutes of starting Pearl though, I knew this was something special. No spoilers, but it was the cornfield sequence that did it for me! Enjoy.

X was quite good but Pearl was, along with Midsommar, one of the best horror films of the last ten years or so. High expectations for this one.

I watched the Henson bio last night and moderately challenge its characterization here as a puff piece; the children were pretty open about him being a shit dad when he was trying to get The Muppet Show off the ground. Admittedly they don’t dwell on it, but it’s the sort of thing that could’ve been easily left out.

Yawn. Mike Flanagan makes horror for people who think mayonnaise is spicy.

I saw a TikTok video (so, big grain of salt) that tied the hidden camera accusations all the way back to Clive Davis, who apparently gave Puffy his start and was supposedly known to videotape people in compromising positions, and presumably passed this technique on to Combs.

A young teenage friend of mine spent the weekend trying successfully to get blocked by DJ Khaled on Instagram. I think it was time well spent

Diddy? You fuckin’ bet he did.

I see what you did there

He has a LinkedIn profile! https://www.linkedin.com/in/shaurya-singh-thapa-8a7a0916b/?original_referer=https%3A%2F%2Fwww%2Egoogle%2Ecom%2F&originalSubdomain=uk

Wow, I haven’t seen that since it came out. I’d have to watch it again.

I thought his best flick by yards was No Way Out because all he had to do was look worried.

Just watched the Ashley Madison one for that very reason. It was OK

taking tango lessons in Argentina.

I can’t remember - did the star man turn out to be Gandalf in the end?

Another worthwhile contribution to what I hope I’m not imprudently dubbing the AV Club Renaissance!
