The width comparison is misleading since the quoted width for the Ranger Raptor is from the tips of the mirrors (as is standard for the Australasian, and I believe European markets). That for the F-150 Raptor however is not.

Once upon a time, I used to believe in this sort of thing. Of course, I grew up on stories of Bell Labs. But those days have passed. Private industry is too focused now. If it’s not driving profit, it’s not happening.

Back in the day cars had bulging fenders, and then they didn’t. Then they had tailfins and then they didn’t. And then came station wagons, then hatchbacks, then minivans and mini pickups, and then those got big again. And then there were SUVs and then crossovers. Cars change, I’m ok with that.

if i build my own, i can install any bed i want. the 6’ bed option wouldn’t make it much longer overall than the oem single-cab 8' bed option.

Car parts aren’t just interchangeable like that...

I own a 1st-gen Colorado, and I have a coworker that just bought a new 2nd-gen Colorado. His truck isn’t really any wider than mine, but it is significantly longer and taller than mine. And much heavier, too. Mine is a regular cab, which Chevrolet doesn’t even offer any more, so while my truck is only 16ft from bumper

I’m holding out hope that the Hyundai Santa Cruz Cruz is a true compact pickup.

Reading these comments makes me want to ask: hope many of you people really have new car cash in hand and are just waiting for a cramped truck with a big bed to buy?

Yeah everyone hopes for a 2 door but there is no market for it. So it will be a 4 door and Bronco just in name.... Sad

If only it were a little lower. The current Colorado isn’t that wide or long, but it’s so high and makes it look huge for what it is. The old Ranger and Colorado appear much smaller despite not being that much less in width or length.

That’s not horrible.

Please, oh holy supraphonic, tell us how we should spend our own money. Your morals are obviously well beyond our own. Woe is me for ever purchasing a luxury item.

This is terrible reporting. So much salt in this article, it’s giving me high blood pressure. So because you cant afford a line of products, it is automatically brainwashing brand marketing targeting idiots with too much money? How about being a line of products produced to supply a demand clearly communicated to

Your kid has a valid point. That is his inheritanceyou are spending on a piece of Italian crap.

SSEi is not “meh”.

I say all of this, because Bloomberg added some relevant context this week to the discussion: for the first time in 40 years, cars and the transportation sector have overtaken power plants as the single biggest source of U.S. greenhouse gas pollution.

Then let’s also cut oil subsidies and let the invisible hand of the market pick who survives.

It seems like you think your experience with an electric car battery will be like your experience with cell phone batteries, that is simply not accurate.

Eh, something just works better on the Maz.

So, an upgraded Durango SRT? Or just restyled?
