Wheyyyy Leeds Rhinos! I live right by their stadium.

Came looking for this, was not disappointed. It infuriates me when I’m co-writing a paper or code with a peer and they bumble with the mouse every time they need to correct mistakes. Almost as bad is when I’m doing the same with certain non-native English speakers and they always right-click the red line and pick the

Aurora was a class traitor.

Call me a shameless homer for OSU, but Mason Rudolph looked alright out there for his first real shot at NFLdom. If he continues to improve in the next couple of weeks and Conner gets back in action, I could see the Steelers making the wild card.

Crop your screenshots you absolute heathen.

But they’re not. Racial epithets only carry weight because of the systematic racism behind them. They’re used to remind people to “know their place”. White people have privilege, so the use of “cracker” has very little force behind it.

My whole issue with the anti-Olympics movements, including NOlympics LA, is that they fail to address why the Olympics should be held: because 1) The public enjoys them and 2) sports that never see daylight otherwise are showcased. Sports like fencing are only as prominent as they are (read: not very), because of that

I’m so glad you’ve included art/design in this list! I’m going to shamelessly plug Ridgeside Brewery in Leeds, UK for their art, as well as quality beer. They’re a personal favourite of mine. Here’s an example of some of their pumpclips, all created by Sam Farrer:

The European market is, in fact, flooded with quality, affordable pilsners.

Plenty of craft beer is also affordable (on both sides of the Atlantic). I often pay less for a craft cask ale than I do a kegged lager in the UK. Even in the states, shops like Bev Mo and Total Wine sell craft for reasonable prices.

This isn't always the case. I make minimum wage at my bar job in Leeds.

I’ll agree with your assessment of Scotch eggs, but burritos are in no way comparable. Mate, even the burritos you can get from Taco Bell are peng, and even they’re lackluster compared to the ones from Barburrito/Tortilla/street vendor. How can you disagree with a bunch of delicious ingredients in a wrap?

I had a similar experience to VeloVirtue with SafeSport as part of a coaching certification - I sent you an email if you’d like to discuss it further.

Fellow Poke here. Baylor deserved to be booted from the Big 12 at least; hell, they probably deserved the death penalty. It's a shame the other universities (including ours) didn't push for those sort of repercussions.

All of this. I used to coach fencing and the parents who thought their kid was going to be a future Olympian were a nightmare, both to the staff and their children. Hell, I’m pretty sure one kid I competed against intentionally stabbed himself in the foot with a butcher knife to stop his father from forcing him to

After a belaying mistake causes Honnold to fall and get injured, he floats the idea of breaking up with McCandless on the spot. She has to break through his wall and get him to see that he can, in her words “have it all,” while she simultaneously copes with the ever-present possibility of Honnold crashing to the

For me, it’s less to do with “demystification” and more to do with building an early tolerance. It’s common for teens on this side of the pond to start drinking at house parties at age 15 or so, whereas I found the rate of alcohol consumption amongst high schoolers to be much lower in the states. I’ve attended

1. I forgot PeiWei even existed - it was overpriced rubbish when I lived in Oklahoma.

And they call us the snowflakes.
