I hope they're working at making it touch-sensitive, too. My wife borrowed a B&W Nook for a few weeks. We both found the display very nice, but the UI was just bizarre.

Now playing

Jack LaLanne did it better (and cheaper) 50 years ago.

This is an interesting time to work for a library. I'm a Library Services Assistant at Sacramento Public Library, where we just began a pilot program lending out Barnes & Noble's Nooks - not downloadables for Nooks, the actual devices themselves. Many people are interested in e-readers but they've held off buying one

Bitch? Hell? Damn? Too bad the guy never heard of George Carlin's "Seven Words" (or Lenny Bruce's nine, which it was based on.) [en.wikipedia.org]

My high school locker was all the way down at the far end of the 2nd floor hallway. But I wasn't last! No, that went to Zwiebelman. Thank God for Zwiebelmans!

My SSID has my last name in it. I figure if one of my neighbors has an emergency, they can come and knock on my door and ask for a password. I don't want any damn kid torrenting off my network, but if someone asks for help, I'm happy to oblige.

I expect to see those at Burning Man this year. Blowing all over the playa.

@JAlexoid: Days in a year, but since you asked, yes, my first programming experience was indeed on an IBM 360/67. On punch cards! If you ever dropped a stack of those... (shudder!)

Did anyone else think of the Las Vegas strip when they saw that photo?

Am I giving a clue to my age when I say I was wondering when the punch card reader was going to appear?

The most important words in this article: "And you can talk to people. You really can."

Can anyone suggest a tool that's easy to use when you're using a computer that doesn't allow you to add toolbars, put links in the bookmark bar, or install any helper apps?

@m0m0: Scroll lock - what does it do?

I SEE WHAT YOU DID THERE IN THE ILLUSTRATION.

@Phrosty: I think the lawyers made them do it.

googling "avatar filetype:torrent" would seem to indicate that Homeland security hasn't seized Google yet.
