Citation? Criticism isn’t new, calls for death is. If an author or an actor got letters or calls with death threats before the age of social media, they’d likely involve the police. The anonymity of social media is new, and the trollery has made it more widespread and harder to stop.  Why should we have the

No, it is not a failure.   There, that was easy.

There has never been a time that death threats to people was ok. It was never normal, and should necessitate a mental health or police intervention. Fuck the hell off with any attempts to normalize it.

“Blew Chunks”

Why do you need to tell HER that? And why focus on Tran, if you thought the whole movie was bad? HMMMM?

I just do not get this hot take. She was fine? The subplot on the casino planet needed more time in development before being committed to script, but I don’t know where anyone gets to the point of excoriating that someone’s performance “blew chunks”. That’s just rude. This reads exactly the same as the treatment Jake

Give it a rest. If you have anything to say about the movie, direct it to Rian Johnson or Kathleen Kennedy or JJ Abrams or Lucasfilm or Disney themselves. They are the ones who made this movie possible. Kelly Marie Tran played her role well. You just didn’t like the story her character went in, but she had zero to do

If this is your response to her harassment and her response, you’re the one who is trash. Also: IT’S A KID’S MOVIE! STFU!

This came up when Tran was on the cover; Liu was on the third foldout page of the Hollywood issue (Zhang Zyi made it to the second page the following year). Tran is the first Asian woman to be on the cover-cover, so to speak.

You aren’t supposed to send her death threats because you didn’t care for her acting or her character. (The character is of course not her fault as she didn’t write the character.) Or use racist terms to describe her character etc.

As a completely defeated and broken Gen-Xer, one of my only bright spots in life is seeing today’s youth doing their thing. They will save us all.

The fact that kindness and decency needs to be crowdsourced says a lot about 2018 and it ain’t good.

While they’re at it, tell him a solid NOPE on the bleached hair.

How about Madonna’s “tribute” to Aretha last night? (Dressed like the Illuminati Queen, no less.) I believe the tribute was titled “Me, Me, Me, Me!” I hope at the Madonna tribute at the VMA’s in 20 years, they trot out Flavor Flav.

To be fair... most people who read gossip mags are interested in that sort of thing, that’s kinda of the point.

It has nothing to do with her gender, you dumbass. Her allegations against Weinstein happened years before her sexual assault on this young man, so obviously people will be interested in discussing why someone who was victimized themselves would move on to victimize others. If Weinstein had himself been a victim of

How fucking broken is your ass, that you want people who suffered fucking sexual assault to get comeuppance? How fucking broken? And a fucking file was anonymously sent to the Times. Of course it was Weinstein’s people. He hired fucking spies, and that’s why Argento was scared to death of the man. Seriously. Fucked up

Oh STFU with that shit. Internet mob my ass. What professional gain?

People are asking what this means for #MeToo. It means it’s doing its job.

I’m trying to understand your point, but I’m sorry, I just don’t. How does the fact that Argento sexually assaulted this man negate the fact that Weinstein sexually assaulted her? Both can be true. And, frankly, I’m struggling to see how you think she used #metoo for her own professional gain when the onslaught of
