@Andrew Pollack: Now that's classic. hah. We're in a rural area, so if we're calling for a mutual aid engine from a neighboring town in the early hours, they hate finding out it was nothing. :)

@Andrew Pollack: Hopefully the artist bothered to clear this (or at least inform) the fire department first. To not do so would be negligent in my opinion. At the very least, it's just rude.

I had to do something similar to get my motorcycle license in Japan. The test was in very broken English and was notorious for being difficult due to the translation. I squeaked by. The driving test was even more fun... they have a road course where obstacles & hazards appear...sometimes in the form of someone hurling

@D@NORST: I might be one of 9 people on the planet that have been happy with Safari on Windows. And, I still use it on my Mac. Wasn't really happy with Chrome.

@Platypus Man: that might be easy. Get a chain of a few people.. one guy sprays cleaning solution, another slides down next wit some towels. :)

@Ryan: Probably a big banner ad being displayed on the moon. :)

Might not sound impressive, but keep in mind that this is one million AirPlay devices too. One million more customers streaming stuff from Netflix and buying stuff from the iTunes Music Store.

@Dapke36: We hear "Well, I tried to put it out myself..." more often than one would think. Most of the time it's on a grass fire, which can get away from someone pretty quick. Dry grass goes up just like those trees do, and dry grass + dry trees = uh oh.

Some of their examples are stupid. Look at Doodle Jump, for example. It says it sends your username & password to Twitter. Of course it does! It will tweet scores! But you have to go in and enter that information first before it can do that.

Looks like it would be simple to lock you inside of it too.

We have had pretty bad luck with CFL bulbs regardless of style or manufacturer and wanted to give LED bulbs a shit. I tried the "SYLVANIA 60 Watt Equivalent Indoor Soft White LED Light Bulb " (lowes.com) in an existing lamp in the living room and while it's definitely a crisp white light, it's easily diffused with a

@tony53: I remember a time when amtrak.com was running off of a Sun Ultra 2 in a Digex data center too. :)

@Dapke36: As a firefighter, I agree with what both of you have said. :)

I think the //c for IRC is a nice touch.

I'm amused by this mostly because I have found the current crop of high school kids to be mostly tech illiterate. They might know how to hit up beemp3.com or whatever the latest one click mp3 download site is, but anything more complicated and they're lost.

College students at MIT doing it? Cool.

There is probably an efax server somewhere going "Oh crap, as if the constant discount cruise ads and drug spam weren't bad enough..."

Wow. Is Gawker bankrolling OK Go or something?

Years of "Scrubs" to keep me awake at work. This is nothing but win.

@gebinsk: Sorry, that's completely incorrect when it comes to Apple. They carry the same full warranty as a new product.
