@RandomNickname: Just wanted to point out that both Verizon and T-Mobile have had pretty big hose ups like this in recent years.

Make sure that y'all use that "Mark The Spot" app and let AT&T know.

@Wofaymay: I just got 1034kbps/231kbps with a 239ms ping time using the Ookla app and a server in Weatherford. I'm in Fort Worth right now.

@PoG: Thank you for posting that. Otherwise, this was doomed to be yet another "hurf durf iPhone sux0rs" thread.

....and 11 of them are paying members. The others logged on once, made a profile, giggled, and then never bothered again.

@adamparka: yeah, I'm surprised California hasn't just banned everything else, like blue state New York. :/

@radiochief: Years ago, it was about growth, geeks, and sharing information. Now it's about suit wearing marketing executives trying to see how they can "increase ROI" and "maximize synergy" while constantly shoving ads down our throats. Oh, and media companies squawking about their copyrights. :/

@Wickyd: All they seem to care about is "where can I download free mp3s?" and "where are the cheat codes for the games?" The 14yr old stepkid has no idea about technology and the only time he seems to show any initiative is when he's trying to get around a restriction that's been placed for poor grades or something.

"For years, parents have relied on their younger, more digitally savvy children to solve their tech woes."

@tvcity6455: I hope a judge throws the lawsuit back at them with "JUST RETURN THE PHONE" stamped on it.

@draper3000: it's more profitable to find some bottom feeding lawyers, sue, and hope for a nice payout... at least that's how it seems.

How is this a security issue? Foursquare blurts out where you are to Facebook, Twitter, and god knows what else anyway. I wish it (and its users) would shut up. Sad to see friends that used to post stuff now flooding friends list with automated tweets and foursquare check ins.

@D.LYTE: There was a show called "It Takes A Thief" showing how people break into houses, and stealing the dog was fairly common... and surprisingly easy.

@PhineasJW: #2 is good, but #1 is really easy to game. The cheap Chinese developers that are flooding the Android Market will have little trouble keeping themselves at the top of the search field, unfortunately.

@JS_Drupal: Sadly, most of my livejournal has turned into auto-facebook/twitter posts. Half my friends list shows no posts other than "Tweets from the past 24 hours" and links to Facebook posts. :/

@kwisatz kidd: "Why is Apple ignoring this public outcry and refusing to make an official statement?"

@xair: "How this reception issue wasn't caught on their testing is incredible"

@Canoehead: Except that this is the kind of portable/nomad work lifestyle that many people are envious of. I can do 90% of my day job from anywhere in the world, but corporate America dictates that I'm in the office during "core business hours" in case anything happens that I need to respond to. :/

@MrEvil: remember this issue from several years back?

Must have been using MSI motherboards. I had nothing but problems with their boards and exploding capacitors.
