@Mark 2000: I rarely had problems in the Financial/Embarcadero or SOMA. It's annoying how this stuff varies from phone to phone because it makes it hard to narrow the problem down. :/

@geolemon: My wife was in the SF/Bay Area for a week recently. She's quite a chatterbox and was using her iPhone for voice and data frequently. When she got back I asked her if she had any problems with data or dropped calls and she said that she did not and everything was working just fine. I have other friends in SF

I think that devices like the iPhone 4 could potentially be a thorn in the porn industry as well. They're already having to compete with amateur content, and with the spread of small HD cameras it's only going to get worse.

There are too many lawyers just frothing at the mouth for a chance to jump on a class action lawsuit against Apple.

Interesting. But I haven't seen anyone in person that's able to recreate this. Maybe my skull is working as a UMTS repeater or something. My wife's co-worker has 5 bars on her new iPhone 4 all the time, and they work in the middle of a hospital building.

@gemcosta: There are multiple access numbers. When I had T-Mobile, I had problems with this because the access numbers changed several times. People have had some bill surprised because of it.

@Eric Tollison: This is about all I use Google Voice for as well. It worked GREAT when I was car shopping, because car dealers are relentless with the phone calls, even after you tell them you've already purchased something. Yikes.

@zelannii: When I had T-Mobile, I had more problems with the GV access numbers changing. I noticed that I was getting bounced around between several different numbers towards the end.

Someone that knows more about antennas than I do said this:

@pmbaustin: "and I tried the "holding wrong" and "touching in the wrong places""

This is one of those stories that makes me think there HAS to be a lot more to the story. Yes, I did read the PDF of the complaint.

@Wozamil: And Slacker Radio. It does not as well. :)

I've been really happy with the durability of the 3GS. I have a Speck CandyShell case on it and a plain ol screen protector and it's been fine. The phone made it through a structure fire in a leg pocket of my structural turnout gear and I didn't destroy it and it didn't melt.

The entire process took less than 20 minutes.

Water really does affect the taste. I found that using filtered water from a plain ol' Britta filter makes coffee taste a whole lot better.

This is also a device that is "announced" about every 18 months. I remember first reading about it at least 5 years ago. But is there an actual shipping product? It's been rumored to be "selling soon" for years.

@Pook365: Verizon's microcell type thing is even worse.

"WHAT AM I TO DO? HOW IS THIS FAIR? WHERE IS THE RECOURSE FOR PEOPLE LIKE MYSELF?"

An "insider" that probably doesn't even exist.
