A reset. It tells the car that the pressures are now spot-on. The car doesn't know the actual pressures, but senses a deviation in wheel speed which means that the circumference has changed.

TPMS doesn't use in-wheel sensors. It is based off of the ABS system. If you had pressed the button inside the glove compartment, the light would have gone off. You only had the car a week, so I would guess that you didn't look at the manual. VW's have been using this system for a few years now.

Single zenith carb on my MGB... Nuts somehow backed off leaving it falling off the manifold... Nuts somewhere on i90 behind me. Took an empty Coke bottle and wedged it in such a way that it held the carb to the manifold well enough to get home.....
