Heh. Watch this space!

Lesson learned.

Okay, for the third time: I didn't say you were defending his argument, I said you were defending him. If I could find another way to make that point, I swear that I would, but I can't think of a clearer way to express it. In any case, it's a minor point at best.

I'm still sincerely confused as to where your aggression and rudeness is coming from. You know what would be more interesting than profanity and personal insults about my character? A point of some kind. I swear, I'm interested. I'm not bringing the heat to this conversation that you clearly are, and I am capable of

If you don't want to be called a misogynist — if that's "guaranteed to offend you" — then don't act like one. But sure, I'm the bad guy for saying it. If only I'd left that sentence out, he'd be a feminist now. I really screwed this one up!

That's fine. I still don't see how calling a spade a spade is pejorative to the spade, when that's based entirely on the words the spade is using, but you are probably right that it was a petty shot to take.

I'm open to a discussion, but not if you honestly think it's about who has it worse. If you're interested in talking about how men and women are exactly the same in every way — if you're willing to claim that 48 men are raped by women every hour in the Congo, for example, or that a woman sexually assaults a man in

I didn't say that — you're defending him, the hominem in question, against my vicious "attack" of calling him a misogynist, merely because of the misogynistic views he has expressed. That's all.

I'm open to a discussion if you have a problem with that. If you're interested in talking about how men and women are exactly the same in every way — if you're willing to claim that 48 men are raped by women every hour in the Congo, for example, or that a woman sexually assaults a man in this country every two seconds

I'm really not sold on the idea that it's an "attack" to call misogyny out for what it is, when it's a statement of fact. The overwhelming negativity toward women throughout his comment seems to make it a foregone conclusion. I'm sorry you find that language so hurtful, I guess.

Yes, and I agree with everything that you're saying about the post itself. But that's not the conversation this person you're so valiantly defending is trying to have. And although I agree with you in theory about the best way to get your point across... I don't know that following Robert's Rules of Order would really

But the hate-filled, barely literate, ranting screed that preceded that joke... gets a pass. Got it. Nice compass you got there, buddy: From your position of privilege where calling someone a misogynist — based on their words themselves — is just as much hate speech as anything else, I presume?
