Well, women and men aren't interchangeable. Pretending they are, especially when it comes to sexual assault, demonstrates as much privilege (IMO) as the subject of this story itself — and trivializes rape in much the same way as well.

Exactly. She decided to make everybody's experience about herself, and then wrote about that like it was something being done to her.
Quite well said. Hate to see PH trip on something this overwrought and septic — I generally look forward to her posts, but a run of these just knocks the legs right out from under any dent she could possibly make in this privileged crew. It starts to look like attention-bait for pageviews, like Adrien Chen with 4chan…
"How does the roleplay scenario described differ so much from the real life incident you wrote about?"
Exactly, exactly, exactly. Thank you so much for putting this so well.
Agree! If that was what had happened, but it really wasn't.
I know, right? I really actually like the perspective PH brings — even in cases like this, where I'm not entirely on board. She's a troll magnet, which makes her kind of a troll herself, but I think it's important to have these issues at least somewhere near the radar, given the culture of gaming itself.
You don't really seem to have a grasp on what "rape culture" is actually talking about. Your diluted, confused sense of this concept and the system of privilege surrounding it is unfortunately shared by a lot of self-proclaimed feminists, who have probably given you this negative view of it in the first place.
Yeah, this the kind of bullshit that brings us all down.

Which is merely one reason this entire thing is stupid.
It is my fervent wish that this young lady never has to understand the difference between a pretend video game and real sexual violence. A rare misstep from Patricia Hernandez, and one that seems pretty close to trolling, frankly. I'm actually a huge PH fan a lot of the time, but this particular story reeks of that…
You know what, that's a good point actually.
It happens. The people on the Hulu show I'm watching can sometimes make this stuff happen, if they yell loud enough or sharply enough. It's ridiculous.
These are pretty.

Project much? There was nothing "angry" about it. You should take the things you read less personally and learn the difference between your emotions and those of other people.
These are also things that would invalidate a housecat from editing Wikipedia entries.
That's a good way to say it. I still find it overall depressing that people pretend he's attractive, but after Tinker Tailor I've at least come to grips with the possibility.
