Plus, it would be kinda stupid to give minority characters immunity from death just for that reason (at least in my humble opinion). If the death makes sense story-wise, then I'm fine with it. If a character's death is not properly set up, I'll be annoyed, regardless of whether it's a minority character or not.

Holy crap, I totally had the same thought when he got that one sentence of back story. "Welp, Sembene now has a back story, he's as good as dead."
So sad I was right. :(

Back in the season 1 episode which was focused on Vanessa's possession, he (well, I presume it was him, it was implied by Vanessa's dialogue) tried to convince her to give herself to him, but she refused and fought back.
I don't fully understand how it works to be honest, but it seems her giving herself willingly

Didn't they meet at the start of season 2?

I get that Clare is a tragic figure, tortured soul and all that, and I do actually like the character for the most part. I can even accept that they're going for the long burn with his story and he hasn't really intersected all that much with the main plotline so far. But boy am I glad that there is finally the

Yes, definitely agreed that the show does not think Victor is doing an acceptable thing. He, maybe Lily could become a militant Suffragette, the timeframe would more or less fit I think? :D

Don't worry, I will upvote it for you, for I am not the upvoter you deserve, but the upvoter you need. Or something like that.

I'm honestly not 100% sure on that either. I could imagine various scenarios. One possibility is that she's been figuring things out ever since Victor brought her back, but kept playing the naive innocent girl.

Haha, yes it was a very… interesting time. Didn't exactly help to strengthen my faith in humanity I must admit, even leaving moderator duties aside. Your gratitude is appreciated.

Yeah, as said, I haven't completely caught up with all the comment threads (and since she was murdered last season, I have probably forgotten the comments from that specific episode), but I hadn't come across it yet among the comments I have read, which astonished me a bit. It wasn't meant as a condemnation of the

He, pretty much, yeah. :D

He, I can understand that. I'm a moderator on a pretty large tech forum, and there are some arguments which just always tend to come back again and again and again and again, and at some point it just gets so exhausting. Not to mention that as a moderator you naturally see a disproportionate amount of the bad stuff

Haha, no problem. I do actually think you might have a point there.

Yeah, could be that. Although it seems to me that a man's moral compass should pick up on that too, if it's somewhat functioning (mine did, after all, and I at least hope it's mostly intact)? Although men might feel less inclined to discuss it, who knows.

I wouldn't even be so sure on that one, he seems like the kinda guy who might just relish such a challenge.

Nope, not pleased at all. I must say I was a bit skeptical about them showing the picture ("depicted horros can never live up to imagined ones" or something like that), but overall I think they did okay. I really liked the jump scare when the picture moved, nice touch IMHO.

I must admit I'm a bit weirded out how little discussion I've seen over Victor's actions with regards to Brona/Lily (disclaimer: I have only now caught up with the season, so if this has already been discussed to death in earlier comment threads, nevermind me ;)).

If some of the fan theories which I've seen about him being another sort of ancient being (Judas, possibly) turn out to be right, I could imagine him being more of a survivalist than one might give him credit for at first sight. I don't think he would have survived centuries as a bungling weirdo without some

"I'm a little confused about Lily/Brona's conversation with the Monster.
She calls him pathetic, berates him for thinking she could love him,
and then still winds up talking herself into starting a new race of
corpse-monsters in a minute or so."

I have a general weakness for the "awesome right hand man" trope, so I've been eagerly awaiting Sembene getting more opportunities at being awesome ever since we first met him.
